And there goes another month along with Vincent Browne. RTÉ has retained their cutting edge presenter, so a question still remains who will take over from the presenter.

    His last week proved popular

    Tonight With Vincent Browne TV3 22:59 Thu 4.7 166
    Tonight With Vincent Browne TV3 23:00 Wed 3.5 125
    Tonight With Vincent Browne TV3 23:00 Tue 3.2 112
    Tonight With Vincent Browne TV3 23:00 Mon 3 107

Monday and Friday nights editions of Coro St were beaten by Wednesday nights edition, with audiences down for the show, no sign of the sandwiched Xpose on either night.

Hard to believe that all 4 episodes of Nationwide made the top 20 shows on RTÉ One, anyone know how many new episodes were produced, if any?

RTÉ2 shows outside of sport all dropped below 90,000.

The only reason Xposé is still getting any sort of good viewing figures is because it's on between Emmerdale and Coro St. Don't be surprised if it is axed at the end of the summer. Not in top 20, lucky to ever get into the top 20 at all.

Very good rating for VinB's last show. I'm sure TV3 must be gutted that he's leaving.

He does have a Gerry Adams documentary coming soon as he mentioned on Thursday, although that was first mentioned about 2 years ago.

Most of the news articles on the Tabloid 3 website are just celeb goss titbits. On the News section of their website, there is just videos of 3news.

I know that my Aunt watches it at 5:30, partly out of habit as she spent years looking after my Granny who always wanted the news. May people who watch TV news watch from 5:30 until about 10, they are like soap viewers. (partly because of Judge Judy also which is one of their top preforming shows). 5:30 news has 100,000 average audience, later news programmes never really did well.

Something point to on several occasions here on boards. When TV3 won the rights to the RWC the only part of their site that mentioned it was Xpose, as they don't have a sport site. They had to put up a Rugby site for the RWC coverage. While they ditched UTV Ireland's website which carried news much like the RTwebsite.

so its for people who 6pm is too late for the news?

the last time I purposely watched tv3 news was when Halligan reported on the Finance Minister's terminal illness.

They just hired/moved Gavan Reilly to be political correspondent for TV3, he is the best journalist in the country imho but has been wasted imho, he's just moved from getting 30 seconds on TodayFM radio to a station, afaik, nobody watches for the news :/

they seem to focus on (true) crime news, they have Mick McCaffrey as head of news :/

Funny Mick McCaffrey was head of news at UTV Ireland and I felt they really out did TV3 for news, from reporting to presentation to graphics to set design to online news reports. At the same time when I heard he was going to head UTV Ireland news I was like you a bit disappointed as he was coming from The Sunday World. He's done really very little with TV3 News and Current Affairs, certainly it is a step back from Ireland Live.

As for it being too late My aunt also watches six-one and nine news.

A woman I worked with also said that her husband would watch 5:30, catch the start of Six One followed by the local NI news I think BBC, followed by Channel 4 News. They were from Belfast.

Also Gavan had a handle here on boards right?

I was referring to the granny, so are there ratings for tv3 news I can't find em

Nah Granny loved the news, though largely to comment on how everyone looked!!! It was a good laugh watch the news with her. Pat Cox was a gosen, a pup and a puff (puff to her was plamaser, a lick). This was before my time but basically my view of Pat Cox lol.

Medialive has a habit of dropping News ratings from top 20 monthly figures, but last time News at 5:30 drop below 100,000 viewers, but is usually seen in the top 20. Last month News at 10 on be3 had 23,000 viewers.

BAI did research with Reuters over six months which showed that TV3 online didn't register for news readers/viewers, yet both jeo and her got mentioned for online news.

100k is more then I thought, Im a newsjunkie but Ive never had a reason to watch TV3 news other then that 1 time in 20 years

and how does that compare to RTE 6 and 9 news? RTE is ~300k http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=104088457&postcount=974

I was wondering where the late news was on TV3. be3 23k viewers!

First time entry last month. It leads into repeats of Coro St and Emmerdale.

is it “female orientated” news? http://www.thejournal.ie/tv3-be3-utv-ireland-3122597-Dec2016/

Are you suggesting the women cann't be interested in News? I imagine that the BAI (though I could be wrong) said that if you want to buy UTV Ireland you must keep the news on be3 as part of its Public Service Remit. Remember TV3 had complained that UTV Ireland could ditch the news because it didn't hold a licence under Section 70 but under Section 71 (my sections could be wrong) either way it meant that UTV Ireland had no public service commitments like TV3. However at the time UTV Radio had the same commitments as TV3.

the guy said it would be a female orientated channel.

The news looks slight different to TV3 news (it's pink!) and has different music. I doubt either go out live, both could be pre-recorded, they are not much different to TV3 news. Kind of like the youth NEWS2 which eventually was just the Nine News as it ran out of steam. Except be3 NEWS was never much more than a repeat of TV3 news at 5:30.

    UTV Ireland - be3
    UTV Radio - Wireless Group
UTV logo - now a variant of the ITV logo.

    Is there a curse?

Did VB Tonight continue with best offs last week? all got into the top 20 for TV3. Unless Medialive gave the previous weeks listings for TV3.

at least 12 of rte one's top 20 are repeats.

Outside of sport RTE2 had everything under 76,000 viewers.

yeah i think they put up the previous week for TV3.

Yes, definitely that is the previous weeks ratings for TV3. First time I've seen MediaLive do that mistake.

Perhaps they thought as it was all repeats, so they would do a few repeats of their own.

Sports gives a wrong picture of the top shows. TV3's Coro Street should have got into the top shows here however because of dividing live and analysis of sports we get no TV3 entry an a lot of RTE2. Sorry got into 38th and 39th position.

VB had an average of 96,000 viewers.

3e and be3 are down in terms of their top 20.

BB on 3e had average of 41,000 viewers for 10pm, Love Island had 36,000 on average for 9pm slots, while America's Got Talent had just 19,000 viewers at number 20.

Vera and Doc Martin both did better on be3 with 50,000 and 44,000 respectively. Who's Doing The Dishes at number 20 was also at 19,000 viewers.

Repeats of Emmerdale and Coro St had 20,000 to 25,000 with news at 10 getting 27,000 viewers up from last month. TV3 news at 5:30 had less than 85,000 viewers, the average for The Voice Kids.

Diana - Our Mother got 208,000 on July 31st on TV3. That's a huge rating. Wait for all the documentaries to be shown now over the next month.

Audience very low for Big Brother and Love Island. Love Island needs to be at least live as ITV2 next time. Let's see how the Celeb BB will do for them this month.

Yep, CBB on August and January, with the civilian BB on June-July. Channel 5 have really driven the brand into the ground.

Glad that ITV2 have not caved into pressure to producing a winter Love Island after the success they had with the show this year.

Ben Frow making soundings that he may drop Big Brother from Channel 5, but TBH I think its more about trying to reduce its cost, as deal is coming to an end in 2018.

also possibly the longest gap re: TV Ratings, TAMI haven't released monthly share, and I don't think June's are right!
