The All Ireland Football final on RTÉ TV was watched by 1.2 million

Last years Football final was watch by just 843,000 viewers or a 62% share of the audience, this years hurling final had 901,000 viewers this compares to 785,000 last year.

    Massive increase for both.

Strange, considering the same two counties were in last year's football final - the novelty factor undoubtedly revived interest in the hurling decider.

IMO Dublin's possible 3 in a Row and Mayo finally breaking their losing streak. The Hurling the fact that Kilkenny didn't take part and the Return of Waterford. .... Or .... cynically... there isn't much else on.

So IMO tabloid-ism works, I don't know what the reaction was to RTÉ2's Ireland's Rich List was but it was viewed by 155,000, this compares to a repeat of Up For The Match which had 55,000 (first time for a repeat of UFTM on 2?). Though I don't really understand its popularity on ONE with 396,000 viewers.

You can tell the autumn is here and TV3 seem to be settling into many of their shows. The X Factor is prob the only disappointment for them but its unlike that the show will pick up, with 171,000 and 154,000 viewers on Sat and Sun respectively. Nothing dropped below 100,000 viewers with Pat Kenny's new-ish show getting 111,000 and Gogglebox getting 109,000 viewers, It will be interesting to see if Coro St Wednesday night ep will push these figures up.

Champions league on 2 had 280 for live play and over on 3 243 but this is for the whole programme.

Again the diparity is those under 15 as medialive report adults only. Haven't said that in a while so though I would mention it.

So TAMI has a new look site http://www.tamireland.ie/top-programmes/ but I can't see the share and reach, I don't think we will get them again. Dreadful looking new site, the other one was horrible but at least it was usable.

Really unprofessional site, links don't work. And many of the pictures will be dated and its not like TAMI are know for updating their site. And they link to a UK site for their planning section, everything in UK Pounds and stats on UK TV

RTÉ2 has really fallen flat. Top show as their Rich List gaining 196,000 viewers. In fairness that does amazing considering a channel that has no other shows getting over 100,000. It's followed I assume by a repeat of First Dates with 71,000 viewers. And preceded by Building Ireland with 68,000 viewers.

Wildlife programming ranged from 70,000 for Animal Super Parents to 52,000 viewers for This Wild Life, both of which I think could be repeats.

Home and Away ranges from 55,000 viewers to 65,000 viewers.

New series of Bridget and Eamon had 70,000 viewers.

Sports wise TG4 (the sponsor) Ladies All Ireland Highlight on 2 had just 63,000 but this compares to live coverage of SSE Airtrcity League live game of just 54,000. Is it not the Daily Mail League now? Greyhound racing had 48,000 viewers.

    Emmys had 60,000.

While one of their standard life docs Schizophrenia: The Voices In My Head had just 47,000 viewers at number 20, but this could have been Repeat from the previous week.

Record audience for TG4 for the live match over 300,000 viewers.

Over on TV3 Coro Street was slightly up with 316,000 viewers and 287,000 viewers on Monday night this help Xpose get 109,000 viewers.

Xfactor on Sunday night had just 158,000 viewers with just 129,000 on Saturday though I believe their were technical issues.

Irish shows Living with Lucy had 116,000 viewers with Gogglebox getting 141,000 viewers.

Pat Kenny had just 103,000 viewers, no sign of The Tonight Show. I don't know if its a good idea to have 2 similar current affairs shows on Wednesday night.

Long gone are the days that home and away was getting 350k viewers

Very hard to get BBC figures, GBBO didn't do to badly for C4 but medialive only give opt out Channel 4 figures not FTA/FreeView numbers.

Home And Away would have been very lucky to get over 300,000 viewers, it was getting maybe over 200,000.

Certainly wouldn't be in the interest of Irish television as a whole, though, if it ends up getting the axe, given they'd likely replace it with more repeats of Law and Order.

    Xpose?

Xpose is the product of quantity over quality at TV3. TV3 for the last 10 years and I'd say even now have wanted to say that they have 50% of their programming coming from Ireland. TV3 spread their staff across multiple shows. If they did drop it, it most likely would result in jobs losses those people would move to other current programmes.

If they did axe it, they have 23hours of Red Rock they could replace it with on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    7:30 Coro St
    8pm Red Rock
    8:30 Coro St

    and should they wish

    9pm Red Rock

Or even just on a monday and a friday.

Sorry, was talking about the Tonight Show - crossed wires!

Yeah I agree TV3 would most likely replace with Law and Order but I also would conclude that VB Tonight/The Tonight Show are part of the 50% Irish programming that TV3 where so keen to achieve.

Any reasoning why there was no Monday edition of The Tonight Show? Agree that it's silly to have Pat Kenny and Tonight Show back to back on a Wednesday.

A different site carries classic rte guides from years gone by and week ending Sept 10th 1989 and home and away was the top program on rte network2 with an audience of 636000 viewers and the 20th program had an audience of 270000 if rte2 could get 270000 for its top programs now would be an achievement

Be interesting to see what those figures for RTÉ2 were like in 1988 before it became Network 2. 636000 for Home and Away, I wonder if Six One news had return to an hour following the summer break.

You have to remember many people were in 2 TV land and even those that weren't were largely in 6 TV land with some just gaining access to Sky, Super, TCC, MTV and so on.

Also I don't think Home and Away had started on ITV and if it had they were a few months behind Network 2.

I am very surprised at how well Network 2 was doing with Coro St, I know it did a good bit better on 1 but I though it was way down for 2 before it switched over.
