The Chase is doing well on UTV Ireland at 6pm. Possibly moving their news back an hour has given the show a lift.

Surprised 3e haven't tried to attack it with The Chase repeats at the same time. In May, their 5pm repeats were getting around 40,000. But hard to know how Tipping Point is doing for them there.

Where you getting your 3e info?

From that graph that medialive twitter showed when Ireland News At 5.30 first broadcast.

A strong weekend performance by RTE One, with Creedon's Wild Atlantic and the Gleneagle topping 300k on Sunday, while Winning Streak and Miriam did likewise on Saturday. Late Review may be a quality improvement on VinB, but will it hold the viewership? Interestingly, 3's Cube repeat is virtually level in the ratings with UTV Ireland's new series!

Is there any rating for Red rock repeats?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,018 ✭✭✭iseegirls

The loss of Big Brother to TV3 is shown a lot this week - they'll want the celeb version to start very soon. Below 55,000 for Red Rock or America's Got Talent on Thursday and Friday. Never quite understood why they have persisted with AGT at primetime - they'll always shove it off to Saturday afternoons when the auditions are over.

A better late than never update from Medialive for Top 20 shows week ending 2nd Aug.

Probably just a standout rating is The Late Review for TV3, which replaced Tonight With Vincent Browne. The ratings went down an awful lot - which is strange, as Vincent was on holidays for a while previously on his show - and the Late Review is basically the same as Tonight - but just a new studio and a new name.

Possibly the 27th August for start of CBB and 29th Aug for The X Factor possibly. I'm sure they cant wait for them and Vincent to return.

VB is always up and down. The audience for The Late Reviews is slightly down but that might grow depending on the host, the show is slightly different with an interview, a debate and an arts review. I only watched the first ep which gave Pat Rabbitte a very easy time.

Red Rock's time slot is too late IMO and eats into TV3's post9 audience, I think it would have faired just as well at 6 or at 7 instead of Xpose and tsocs

Yep I agree, Xpose needs a rest for the month at least. Karen Koster is only going to be working 3 days a week, and I think aisling o'loughlin took parental leave for the whole of August. Must be very demanding having such a skeleton staff for a show which was doubled to an hour last year. Putting Red Rock in there would have been better just to give Xpose a breather. Prob could say the same for tsocs too I suppose.

As TV3 loose share UTV should really be growing, but then as RTÉ ONE looses share they all should be growing. It just shows that none really no their audience and its not just a problem in UTV Ireland.

3e being the exception, the increase in share is down to the McGregor fight?

Surprisingly Setanta's share rose over the summer months, even when the Premier League wasn't on. Although, most of the matches are shown on Setanta Sports 1.

TV3 need to plan better for next years summer. This one has been awful - Red Rock at a bad time, showing repeated docs and America's Got Talent won't do any favours at prime time. They should be rebidding for the GAA in a year and a half once the rights come up again.

    Perhaps Wimbledon helped?

Both TV3 and UTV have to address their problems. TV3 can't reach above 7% with out big shows and UTV can't reach above 7% by only going with ITV Soaps.

I expect based on RTE One autumn schedule and that RTE2's doesn't start until October the following to happen in Sept and Oct 2015

    RTE ONE @ 15%
TV3 @ 15% (RWC2015, Xfactor and CBB unless the get the rest of their schedule completely wrong, and people watch HD RWC on ITV/UTV/STV)
RTE2 @ 5% (pessimistic on this but without sport!)
UTV @ 6% (unless the do something substantial, their soaps will keep their share)
TG4 @ 1.5% (The had a producers day so I do expect changes this autumn, so they might see a slight increase)
Setanta @ 0.5% (or less with RWC taking over the air, unless they get deferred rights from TV3)
3e @ 3% again with sports, cbb and xfactor.

    November

    RTE ONE @ 18%
    RTE TWO @ 6%
    TV3 @ 6%
    UTV @ 10% (due to I'm a Celeb)
    TG4 @ 1.5%
    3e @ 2% (due to I'm a Celeb)

Have to agree with you on all counts, Elmo - TG4 will get their usual Pro12 boost from September, but TV3 maybe 8% approaching Y/E due to X Factor and the Champions League?

but TV3 maybe 8% approaching Y/E due to X Factor and the Champions League?

They might for November (Xfactor Final) and if they have a good Christmas but generally TV3 see a fall in December.

After scanning over our nation's viewing habits on this thread it's absolutely embarrassing reading.

Why would RTE, TV3 or UTV Ireland even bother paying for the latest and greatest international tv shows when we are happy with the same repetitive Soaps, misery porn news and Amateur unpaid brainwashed bank workers kicking, punching, bouncing and catching a ball around an empty stadium.

We are a nation of metathesiophobes.
That is why Radio 1 hasn't changed it's schedule, because people don't know how to change the dial because that was the original channel and anything else is witchcraft.

That's why Eircom can charge extortionate prices when there's better choice out there.

It's the same reason why Vodafone can charge the same price for a plan with 250mb of Data as other networks who have unlimited data and still be the biggest network in the country because people are with the them since day 1 and think they're phone will explode if they Change network.

    Christ we're awful!

Tbh top programming are only a snap shot, only 40% of live TV viewers are watching Irish channels, this is a better guide to what people watch in a fragmented market.

If you look at top UK programming you see a similar trend with soaps, reality TV and sports taking up most of top rated shows
