It will be interesting to see how it works out. When you consider Quarter Finals will do well but that there are no week day matches.

Last week will be interesting considering the line up of games.

    Monday 5 Oct No Game
Tuesday 6 Oct Canada V Romania & Fiji V Uruguay
Wednesday 7 Oct South Africa V USA & Namibia V Georgia
    Thursday 8 Oct No Game
Friday 9 Oct New Zealand V Tonga

I have highlighted the games that might be of interested to Irish Audiences.

Weekend ones definitely did well, with less interesting in Italy V Romania and with Ireland V Poland on during USA V Japan it can have had strong audiences, coupled with the fact few are interested in USA V Japan.

The France vs Ireland game at the Rugby World Cup had viewing figures of 4.05m (25.1% of the viewing audience) on ITV in the UK yesterday.

Have some of the X Factor shows moved to 3e? XFactor's worst year on TV3. Usually its higher at this stage. I know its audience has dropped for ITV but generally Irish audience are slower to pick up on popular shows meaning that the drop comes the following year. Is it because of the bad press?

The X factor was low on Sunday due to the Ireland football match. It did have 237,000 the week before which quite ok. It will never reach the heights of 5 years ago when it was in its prime (both here and in the UK) - when Mary Byrne, Jedward and One Direction held onto most of the Irish interest.

Plus they've started the show an hour later than UTVNI/ITV due to Rugby World Cup. May have had an effect over the past few weeks.

Peak of 1.6m v France but only 1.3m for Argentina? Was it because of the 1pm kick off on the Argentina game? Or is there another reason why the audience might have dropped by around 18%?

Possibly the time. 75% of the audience watched. Also don't think you should go by peak, average is better, and not quite as much of a drop.

So here it is the first week of the RWC where no matches are played mid-week Monday - Thursday.

And it shows. First off the top 40 of the last few weeks has drop to the top 30 with Post match analysis getting the 30th spot for TV3 (it could be lower TBH as the top 30/40 are based on RTE ONE's top 20, its number 20 being the cut off).

RTE ONE's audience didn't grow this month with Ray D'Arcy down but this will change with the ending of the RWC.

RTE2 has sport with Boxing and GAA Draws, the GAA Draws pulling in more viewers than live Boxing. Other than that RTE2 remains the same with Reality Bites series continuing to do quite well. Though showing Don't Tell The Bride UK at 10:30 on a Thursday night?

Downton remains steady on TV3 showing the knock on effect of so many losing UTV. 134,000 viewers for it on Wednesday night, Red Rock getting 124,000 viewers on Thursday and 109,000 viewers on Wednesday. XFactor is still relatively low at 234,000.

Same old, same old for UTV Ireland. Coro St and Emmerdale taking up their top 10.

With Ireland out of the RWC, where does this leave TV3?

While it maybe still all to play for in terms of Webb Ellis, in terms of TV the RWC is all over bar the shouting. Just four more matches over two weeks and one of them is the dreaded 3rd place play off (though it is the only one of the four in prime time).

After making the big mistake of tuning in to see him doing a press up contest with some model last Saturday I'd tend to agree. It was complete cringe tv.

The time of day must be a factor and it's likely that the rugby audience had reached it's peak with the France match and wasn't going to get much more than that.

Had it been Ireland in a Soccer World Cup quarter final, I think the audience would climb to 1.5 million if not more, empty streets etc. Rugby hasn't got to that stage...yet.

Still though, amazing figures for rugby and for TV3.

They are guaranteed high ratings for the remaining matches given the hype and interest for this World Cup.

I think the criticism of Darcy is unfair.

For me, the LLS, Brendan O'Connor, Pat Kenny, Gaybo, Miriam O'Callaghan programmes are all virtually the same. I'm of the view that they are all terrible and I'm baffled by the high ratings for such rubbish, but singling out Darcy is a bit unfair.

Once the rugby is over, his audience figures will stabilise and settle because it seems to me that a significant amount of people will watch the LLS on Friday and the Saturday interview show on RTE no matter who's on it or what's being discussed on it. They religiously watch them every week and seemingly have no standards.

I agree but then the competition never really tried to provide an alternative show. I often wonder why so many people watch Vincent Browne on a daily basis, once a week would be better IMO.

TV3 scapegoated Mr. Dunphy, they could have easily put it on a Saturday night over the course of 3 years when there was no Kenny Live/Tubrity Tonight/TSNS/TRDS, even then it was just TLLS with a different presenter.

Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip pulled in on average 322,000 viewers last night - impressive numbers for UTVI beating Eastenders on RTE 1 and Mission Impossible on TV3 with a 20% share of the viewing audience.

Up north it averaged 192,000 viewers and a 28% share on UTV.

EastEnders has never been that strong, which is why TV3 should have aired Red Rock in Sept 2014 at 8pm on Monday and Friday Nights.

Great figure for the new show. Unsure whether TV3 ever reached that high of a figure for 8pm ever on a Monday.

Just goes to show how popular Daniel O'Donnell is. Wait and see the amount of specials that will be on over Christmas on the Irish channels, along with the usual Brendan Grace specials.

TLLS has a Country & Western Special ! no counting for taste. Though I think Daniel can be very witty.

    Baffling.

Not particularly, every local radio station tends to have a regular Country and Irish show, and you'd be surprised at the popularity of Irish TV!

I would love to know the popularity of Irish TV, if it is so popular they are mad not to be part of TAM Ireland.

Country Music always does well for TG4, Glor Tire used to constantly get 100,000 viewers (a C&W X-Factor).

So clearly this week the spotlight should be on TV3.

Top 4 programmes are sport and RWC did well but both semis gettling less than 500,000 viewers. Australia's win against Argentina had 428,000 and 390,000 watching the All Blacks' win against RSA.

Champions league on TV3 holds on to 222,000 viewers, compared to RTÉ2's coverage with 225,000.

Post match analysis for Austraila V Argentina had 170,000 viewers.

With XFactor still low with 163,000 for both nights.

Their decision to show The Great Irish Back post RWC paid off with 156,000 viewers.

Their Downton repeat had 117,000 viewers and the People's Debate contines to attract 117,000 viewers.

Red Rock was only in the top 20 once this week with 95,000 viewers on Wednesday night, while the IFTA's had 85,000 viewers.

Vincent Browne still averaging 100,000 viewers.

Animal Rescue on Monday night at 20:30 had 69,000 viewers.

But no sign of Xpose or TSOCS.

RTÉ as stated did well with TLLS Special. Ray D'Arcy getting just 323,000 viewers. Realing in the years was at Number 2 with 382,000 viewers, while another repeat of Room To Improve had 352,000 viewers at number 6.

RTÉ2 saw little change with Reality bites still doing quite well but failing to increase audience outside of sport.

Insight on UTV Ireland had 115,000 viewers. Doc Martin saw an increase to 144,000 viewers.

Celeb Chase had 64,000 viewers against TV3's The Cube 84,000 viewers.

But almost back to before the RWC! As ICDG pointed out it was largely over for TV3 by this stage.

As usual audiences = adults = over 15s

Regardless of the channel The Snapper will just get an audience. 259,000 viewers for Bank Holiday Halloween Monday. They just don't take Halloween seriously.

RTÉ ONE's audience look very similar to their summer audiences. With the exception of TLLS and Fair City. Winning Streak increases to 320,000 from its stint during the summer, but over all it looks like the worst season for RTÉ ONE has turned out to be that. First episode of Ireland's Fittest Family takes over from repeats of Room to Improve with 363,000 viewers. Ray D'Arcy still failing to make an impact with 340,000 viewers but early days.

Prime Time has 320,000 viewers this compares to Vincent Browne's Tuesday night episode with 126,000 viewers.

RTÉ2 sees Home and Away shoot up the ratings taking top spot with 111,000 viewers and second place with 105,000 viewers this compares to Red Rock's 111,000 viewers on Thursday and 102,000 on Wednesday (both up from last week).

RTÉ2's "Constructed Factual" programmes continue to do well with 94,000 viewers for Dole Life and 77,000 for Reality Bites. Hardy Bucks return with 73,000 viewers (but did air first on RTÉ Player), this compares to Fr. Ted with 64,000 viewers and Friends with 62,000 viewers.

And we're back... TV3's RWC final had 442,000 viewers and the 3rd place place off had 219,000 viewers. 200,000 stay for the post match analysis for the final. FAI League Live on RTÉ2 had 57,000 viewers.

Downton Abbey repeat had 160,000 viewers, this compares to UTV Ireland's Doc Martin with 128,000 viewers and homeland's 68,000 on RTÉ2.

The Dubliners Live had 139,000 this compares to the might of Daniel getting 265,000 viewers on UTV Ireland and its repeat getting 68,000 viewers.

X-Factor has grown slightly but the results show had just 172,000 viewers, this must be disappointing for TV3 for live shows.

No sign of Xpose or TSOCS. The Chase had 60,000 viewers compared to Judge Judy who had 100,000 viewers. The Celeb version of The Chase on TV3 had 106,000 viewers.

TAM Ireland should release October shares in the next few weeks.

    Viewers = Adults = over 15

Note: Claire Byrne did not air as it was a bank holiday.

Those figures for RWC once Ireland were out were abysmal imo.

I wouldn't call those figures abysmal, reaching 450k for the final. Like most ppl, once Ireland went out - it lost a lot of people's interest. But they had 3 matches after that happened with strong ratings. Ratings of which TV3 prob won't get for a long time again.
