They'll need Devin toner to close the door , who thought those steps were a good idea!?

Looks nicer than I expected it would.

Same.. Nicer then expected but still could have been designed better I think.. Just my two cents

    Don't like that at all.

Only thing that bugs me is the spacing on the "Official Airline of the Irish Rugby Team" seems to be off. Apart from that really like it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 860 ✭✭✭LiamaDelta

Sweet jeeezus. There must be 50 shades of green on that!

I think it's a bit overdone...nice and simple always stands out more. It's like they couldn't decide so they went with everything!

I agree but it does look better than the CG render from before.

Is it not just the two shades that Aer Lingus always use?

It does all right. And I do admit that I would/will be proud as punch seeing it in other airports...particularly in Heathrow :) Can't wait for some of my colleagues from the UK to have to fly over on it!

Possibly! I may have just still been in shock.

It does seem that the tail has a few different shades for the ball the shamrock etc. maybe it's just the light/reflections too.

They should make sure it flies away fans to Dublin and back for Ireland's home Six Nations matches :pac:

I agree...it's brutal looking. There's a huge gap between the O and the f in Official...Monday morning job maybe :D

The text looks terrible, but overall it is far too busy. Way too much going on.
I'm a big fan of keeping things simple..and simple this is definitely not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,808 ✭✭✭lintdrummer

I'd prefer if they hadn't put that big white section on the fuselage, the tail looks great.

Agreed. The slogan typeface is awful.

Seen her land there, tail looks great, rest of it looks like a primary school class did it as a class project, terrible

    Wow, what a mess

How long before it gets repainted? Is it a 3 year sponsorship?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 86 ✭✭olive20

Would look much better on a 321 or 75. I think. The 320 is too dinky

Here it is from the other side. Not as bad in real life I suppose.

Back to the drawing board with any luck.

EI-DEO had its first passenger flight this evening. It operated EI386 (SNN-LHR).

The A319 that was in Shannon is positing to DUB ATM.

What was the point in flying it up and down to Dublin so?

Let the EI team in DUB look at it?
Maybe they didn't have scheduling info sorted

There was a media announcement/launch of the livery at DUB today.

I think the 319 at Shannon went tech and DEO was drafted in as a replacement?

Considering it just flew to Dublin I'd doubt that.

Could be a large group booked from SNN

Going tech doesn't necessarily mean it can't fly

That's usually exactly what it does mean....

"Going tech" means there is a technical issue that needs to be fixed before its next flight. In some circumstances however the aircraft is allowed to dispatch for a flight to a maintenance base without passengers on it.

"Going tech", means it can't operate the flight that was planned, quite often that does ground the aircraft too.

I have flown several times (3 I think, SNN-DUB and 2 from UK to DUB)
on aircraft that had "gone tech" and we were being returned to base with the sick plane.
Low level over the Irish Sea sitting in a non-pressurisd B737 is a good memory.

    I'm gonna take 3 guesses,

    EI-CJC

    EI-CJE

    EI-CJI

Seen EI DEO this morning in the flesh working the 230 to LGW. Looks very well in real life and while it's no DVM it certainly stands out amongst all the other liveries during the morning rush.

In every airline I've ever worked for 'gone tech' meant exactly that, it was grounded until it was fixed or ferried.
Coincidentally I had one instance where an A/C had "gone tech" with a pressurisation problem which 99% of the time would have effectively grounded the A/C but in this case the next flight was a short domestic sector and the captain agreed to take the A/C unpressurised in accordance with the MEL so the A/C was no longer considered 'Tech' until it landed at the next airport where it was immediately classed as 'Tech' and grounded until it was repaired.

Took a while for people to notice it today as today there was a high crosswind so it was facing the viewing area for a lot of the approach.

Good job Wayne Barnes wasn't there or he would have pinged them for coming in from the side....:)
