    Hello,

Has anyone gone for mobilization therapy on their back? I have been recommended to someone in Waterford, but don't know what to expect.

    Thanks.

sorry i dont know what mobilization therapy is but have you looked at foam rolling? youtube it. highly recommend it. its helping me a lot with injuries but be aware it may not suit your injuries. might save you a few quid though

Were you recommended a physiotherapist or chiropractor?

Chiropractors aren't actually real doctors, they're just dodgy people with some half assed degree. Be careful of them.

No the person is not a physiotherapist or chiropractor, he is someone who is specialized in Mobilization.

If its an alternative medicine thing, I'm always cautious about that. I don't know anything abut the treatment myself but the best thing I can say is see your GP if your unsure what to do.

Treatment for muscular issues will obviously differ from vertebrae issues. In my case I had a recurrence of a disk injury a few years ago that messed me up for 12 months. I tried various alternative/chiropractor solutions and found them absolutely useless/dangerous and expensive. In the end, my GP referred me to the Back Care Clinic in the hospital. 3 week waiting list. Free of charge. Absolutely brilliant. My recovery started immediately and I've had no problems in 6 years.

He was recommended to me by a consultant/specialist doctor. I have bulging and herniated disc's, plus osteoarthritis. Also have hip and pelvis issues, recently I've been diagnoses with an auto- immune disorder. The consultant said mobilization would help - as he thought some of my back pain is mechanical.

That sounds truly awful. Wishing you all the very best with your recovery.

In that case I would go along with your consultants advice.
