What are the requirements to progress to the following year?

I read in another thread that 55 credits are needed to go to the next year.
So that sounds like it'd be okay to fail one 5 credit module every year, then repeat it next year.
I myself failed 3 modules in semester one, and looks like will fail 2 more this semester. I've been doing all right in modules with 100% CA, but when it comes to modules with 50/50 exam/CA I procrastinate to the point of just giving up on CAs.
How does the math work for repating exams in august? If I get 0 on CAs that's 50% of the module gone. Then there is 50% exam. If I get 85-90% will I pass the module?

For a start, don't think in those terms. You should be aiming to shoot the lights out in the CAs and making life much easier in the final exams. Having that many repeats in the summer will be hanging over you right up until you do the exams in August, and thats a pain in the ass.

I don't know what happens with CAs carrying or not carrying over into August repeats, I suggest asking your lecturers about that. I wish you the best in getting back into next semester. And leave you with the following advice....

Once you get back in, make it your business not to fail any module. Dedicate yourself 100% to the studies. Get as much as you can out of the CAs, especially the 50/50 exams...when I studied in ITB I often had 40/50 going into the exam, making my life much simpler. And there were plenty of times where I did fail the exam portion of the module, but passed overall because of my CA grade. Next semester, keep your standards high, stay focused, and don't be in this position again.

    Good luck!

If you fail the semester exams, then you lose your CA grade going into the repeats eg its 100% based on the repeat exam.

If you defer the semester exam by arrangement (eg certified illness) then your CA grade carries through and the repeat is just a portion of your final grade for that module.
