    Hi,
I'm looking to replace an old NAD T750 amp and also a cambridge surround sound system with a new system for both TV and music, preferably with multi room.  I have a budget of around 450 - 500 at the moment.

I am quite keen on the Yamaha Rxv677 but I'm looking for some advice regarding speakers.

I currently have a few sets of Celestion MP1 bookshelf spekers (8 ohm, 10-150W, 90db), the size of these speakers suit me but I could go a bit bigger.

Given my budget would I be able to use these speakers with the rxv677 (with a view to upgrading speakers later) or would I be better off going for a cheaper amp and getting a full amp and speaker package for around the 500 mark?
If so could you advise a package the may suffice.

The main things I want are good sound for music, the ability to stream, two room setup and an easy interface or app for control. i am not too worried about surround sound for movies at the moment.

    Thanks.

MP1's there is a blast from the past, they must be about 20 years old. they were a good speaker in their day.  If it was me I would replace your amp and replace the speakers when funds allow.  I would always feel that I had compromised on what I really wanted just to have something now.  The rxv677 is a good receiver, but if it was me I would go for the the sony strdn1050

paired with a set of monitor audio mass speakers
