Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know there is a campaign to get a swimming pool in Lucan but in the meantime where is the closest one? Clondalkin?

Depending on where in Lucan you are, there are public pools in clondalkin, ballyfermot and coolmine

That had been running for 35 years at least

Haven't been to them, but the Clarion Hotel beside Liffey Valley shopping centre has a pool, and so does Finnstown hotel, vaguely opposite the Lord Lucan pub in Finnstown.

They're both private pools. I know you can't have a swim in the Clarion Hotel pool unless you're a member of their gym, a highly expensive swim if you're not a gym bunny!

Rang Finnstown there, 85 for three months or 250 for a year, has gym facilities too, not bad.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

I would recommend Stewart's hospital and similar pools if you have (very) young children. The water is kept very warm as opposed to the likes of Clondalkin which is too cold for small children imho. That said, if you are doing lengths, the water in Stewart's would be far too warm to be comfortable
