Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ramos stinking the place out

Looks like Juve are happy with 2-1.

Very poor night for Gareth bale.

Anyone who says they don't like Lichtsteiner, I know you would adore him if he played for your team... It's not like he's a Pepe, actually a dirty violent player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 848 ✭✭✭Muff_Daddy

Pirlo clearly been watching too much of Ramos with that ball....

Juventus have a great midfield. Better than Madrids.

    Should be 3

Should have been 3! Could well rue that.

Great job overall from Juve, hope those misses don't cost them though!

2nd leg gonna be monster good. I fancy Juve.. To win the CL outright.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

I think once Bale gets another game under his belt on Saturday and Madrid get back Benezma too, I think Madrid will take Juventus at home. Very good match. Madrid are missing Modric though, Ramos was awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,508 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Ah, should have scored from.the free.Madrid could equalise yet.

Fair play Juve. Thought they had shot their load in the first 20 minutes and couldn't see them getting a result but they gave as good as they got in the second half.

Not a chance in hell :pac:. I think Real will take them in the 2nd leg, if not Baca and Bayern will fancy them. I think the home crowd and some awful Madrid defending helped them tonight.

Vidal was immense. Excellent on the ball & he was everywhere. Its why he is one of the best all round CM in the world.

Good game, sets it up nicely for the return leg, Llorente could be made pay for that miss at the end. Madrid still in good shape to qualify.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Sloppy from Real tonight and no real spark in the final third. I don't think Juve are a great team, and bit more patience with passing like Real's goal would have had more end result. Instead it was difficult passes or stupid hallelujah long balls from Ramos. Modric is really missed in a game like that.

a little bit premature with the celebrations, its only half time really!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,977 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Madrid midfield has been awful since Modric got injured. They really have to sort out whatever is going on with Khedira. They will go out if Pogba is fit for the second leg and they have the same midfield I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Ha. Keane in cracking form post match.

Game still on a knife edge. Think Real will go on to win the tie, but I hope I'm wrong.

Nah I think they win at home, I thought Juventus played well but they aren't world beaters and their goals came from bad defending rather then them ripping apart Madrid. I think Real at home are a different beast.

Some great defending from juve near the end and a very good performance all in all, they'll fancy their chances.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

How the hell didn't carvajal get a yellow for the penalty, ridiculous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,950 ✭✭✭Pinturicchio

Great match. It would've been fantastic if Llorente had taken one of his chances to make it 3-1, but I'll definitely take 2-1. I'm going to be a ball of nerves until the second leg now. I'm proud of the boys tonight though. Forza Juve!

Juve has done decently enough in Bernabeu. 4-4 goal difference in the last three occasions I think.

They'll fancy their chances on the break against that Madrid defence.

If Juve had taken that gift of a chance towards the end to make it 3-1 it would have been a far harder task for Madrid. But can still see Madrid putting 2 or 3 past them in the home leg.

Juve should have won that tie 3-1. Simples.

Madrid without Modric are desperate at times. Ok, Ramos's passing radar was off and that's a very rare thing. Kroos though just didn't look bothered or arsed.

Vidal was immense. I'd love it for Allegri if they made it to the final and won. I really would. The guy is ridiculously under rated.

And I think Conte is the opposite

As I've said before, the smart money is on Juve to win the tournament. There's nothing I saw tonight that would change my mind. They'll do what they need to do and win fairly handily

Pirlo ran the second most out of everyone, bit unusual that!

It's amazing to see Bale now. He hid all last night. Lichsteiner put the ****s on him big time. He didn't want the ball, no one looked for him.

Looks like he can't handle the politics at Madrid. It's taken the heart out of him.

I'd be amazed if he's there next season.

That being said Juve might regret those chances to make it 3-1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

I wonder if the game against Sevilla had any impact. Ancellotti played the same starting XI in both games. I've never in my life seem Ramos distribute the ball as poorly. I've also never seen Marcello so wasteful with crosses.

If Juve had that two goal cushion they'd have had a hell of an uphill task. As it stands Madrid only need the one goal. So here's hoping that Juve will score first. :)

Real have Valencia this weekend. Hopefully that can knock more out of them. :D
