Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If it is relatively minor I would be able to repair it, buttons are no problem. Hemming things is too difficult for me though.

What is the biggest lie you have ever told?

They're brilliant... when you're prepared. I was fcuking terrorised by my first year exams last year. It's a distance learning course and apart from badly struggling with the realities of study after a prolonged absence, falling badly behind and my private life falling apart causing a perfect shiitstorm. This year is more about hard graft than uncertainty. Already, I'm looking forward to having some kind of comfort but yes, I do feel excited for the challenge.

Good luck tomorrow, The Pheasant2 :)

My career has yet to begin properly I suppose as I'm still mid course; but I hope I've picked the right path for me.

    What made you sad recently

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

My car is sick. The price to get it fixed makes me very sad.

    And you?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

There's a homeless guy that I know to see. He isn't on drugs, he's well spoken and very friendly and polite. He has a pet dog and OMG she is a diva lol. He dresses her up in Santa outfits and always has her wearing coats in this weather.
I'd say there's some mental health issues at play that has him on the street because he's obviously not high and the dog is his whole entire world.
Anyway, yesterday I was running into the euroshop to pick up a cheap toilet brush (are you jealous of my glamorous life?) and he was there, dog sitting in the middle of the floor, surrounded by doggy toys and blankets he had bought for her and he was showing her what he got her. In his hand, he had this reindeer that made noise and he was showing it to the dog and talking to the woman working there saying this was for his mam and that she was gonna love it. The dog was loving it too trying to get it off him and he kept telling her no it was for granny. "Say bye bye" as he put it into a bag. And I swear to god my heart broke into a million pieces, and I'm not an emotional person. But I'm so sad. As little as he clearly has, and as in desperate need as he is to feed himself, he bought his mam her Xmas present from the euro shop and bought the dog more stuff than she will even use. I'm going to get him and the dog a present.

    Did you read all that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

I did. Nice story - but shocked about the toilet brush bit.

Whats the plan for the day?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Why shocked about toilet brush? Do you think I'm a mank bag?

    That is two separate questions!

If you go looking for a row, do you inevitably find one?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Yes, my dad used to tell me id argue with the devil if there was only the two of us in hell

Why are you so shocked I bought a loo brush :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

Loo brushes are manky dirty yokes. I did not think there had been one in a domestic residence since 1988. Not only are the brushes manky but those yokes that hold them are worse.

Who wants a poo soiled, pee steeped, brush and holder in their pristine toilet?

You change it regularly you manky yoke! I'd be getting fair paranoid if I wasn't scrubbing the toilet last thing at night, before putting toilet cleaner on it overnight. That's why I don't like spending anymore than 3 euro on one!

How do you keep your toilet scrubbed with no brush?
Does your wife use your toothbrush :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

It gets bleached and those who use it have a proper 'aim' so the sides don't get soiled.

Do visitors to your home take photos of your toilet brush to share with friends who wont believe what they have seen without proof?
