Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Checked eircode to discover that I have 2 !!!!!!........one for the hayshed and one for the sheep shed, but none for the dwellinghouse which is 20m away!!!!!! The sheep can have my Ir. Water bills as I don't seem to exist anymore! But then, if Shannon Airport can move to Co Limerick, anything is possible. Shades of PPARS, voting machines, Hse, Ir Water...... What is really galling is listening to that waffler and spinner Minister White "justifying" all this on RTE - a performance only rivalled by cute hoor Phil defending Ir Water.

I wish I had that view looking down the shotgun barrell. Just walked the 600m to FIL's for shotgun, crows would almost land on ya. Once I had it walking back the same road and had it hidden down by my side so I could get to a good spot near the sheds they scarpered. Smarter than me anyway!!

Probably has been said on here before but heard story last night about a few blokes having a chat about viagra.
Usual stuff, one saying he wouldn't need it (liar!), another saying he wouldn't take it at all etc etc. Then one of them says that he had taken it once about a year ago. Bit of sneering followed and then one of them asks if was as good as they say
Any good? says yer man, any good? its serious stuff. I took two of them one evening and about an hour later I didn't know whether to go off with the woman with it or to finish off bringing in the round bales

Built my own house. Moved in 18 months ago. I am an engineer too, but I can definitely say a lot of engineers that design houses don't mind spending your money. Value for money is rarely considered

We have to sell or town house before we have the money to build one or two of the engineers didn't want to no when we said that the prick.
The fella we got is sound out has done a lot of houses around and isnt to expensive one fella wanted 10 k for completion

Be carefully with engineers/aarchitects that quote a price. And then add vat when they realise your not going to give them all the work they expected.
My brother got one architect/engineer to do plans and get the full planning permission. €2500 I think, but when my brother told him he was too expensive for the signing off for the stage payments, suddenly it was 2500 plus VAT.

6 years later the engineer is still wait for his VAT

Built a house as well... Some days am half sorry I didn't just buy one in the locality. We are in a few years, and we still seem to be spending money on it (albeit outside now, but its a money pit)

Also - on the mates thing - get their opinion, but not sure I'd recommend getting mates to do work. Not that it got messy with me, but tis hard to ring a mate, and put pressure on them, when you know they are under pressure already... but maybe I am too soft :)
