Suitable for black tie event?

I was just looking to get opinions on whether this dress is suitable for a black tie event I have been invited to in short notice. I am a bit shorter than the model and it just hits above my knee. I could wear it with either hot pink or black heels and a black pashmina and dress it up more with some jewellery.

I know a couple of guys who went last year and didn't wear tuxes but I don't know any women going to ask about a dress! Help please!

If this is a formal black tie event you are going to then no this dress is in no way suitable sorry. However what your describing if the guys aren't even wearing tuxes is not a black tie event and you should ask some of the guys if it would be suitable or look at pictures if what people have worn to the event in previous years.

Depending on the dress quality, I would wear that to a black tie, but that's because I have a personal dislike of full length dresses and often wear cocktail/prom dresses for formal occasions. Plus I like to look different from all the full-length, sequinned ballgowns.

But, if you're going to go down that route, the dress should be good quality. As long as your accessories are appropriate, I would say wear it!
