Currently I've got an old build: * AM3 socket ASUS mobo * AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz with a Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 Main monitor is 1920 × 1200 and the 6850 isn't doing it for me anymore. I don't have the cash for a whole new build, but have about 200 quid max for a new graphics card, and wondering if I can…

R9 270X is about 180-190, should be a pretty good upgrade. Can be gotten second hand on adverts for about 150

You would easily get an r9 280x for sub 200 second hand on adverts. You can probably get a new one for just a little more.
