Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    We tear right through these.

Usual rules apply. Last thread saw us going from winning the league to a horrid losing streak to signing Depay. What's next?

Guessing we will see a back four of Valencia, Jones, Smalling and Shaw. Blind in front with Herrera and Fellaini and a front three of Young, Rooney, Mata.

Know it's not really the time for radically changing things but RVP looked sharp and I'd contemplate dropping Mata for him, having Ander play out right for Mata and play Fellaini deeper in beside Blind with Rooney at 10. We've pretty poor down the right hand side for the last few games and sidea know with Mata on that side now that a) he won't go dribbling past their LB so they can leave him 1v1 but mainly b) won't be crossing with his right foot so they can show him inside and put extra bodies inside. Leaves us awfully one dimensional at times (middle packed, no danger wide right so always ends up at Young) especially with Val's attempts at crossing.

Probably "Arsenal always finish 4th" notion that goes around..

So we basically don't know the injury situation at the club with this mystery virus? If Evans and Jones are available it should be ok at the back providing Valencia hasn't picked it up but if any of the 3 starting midfielders (Herrera, Blind and Fellaini) have it then it could be bad against a team like Palace.

I have a feeling Di Maria will be off to PSG, he probably would have stayed at Madrid his whole career given the option

As happy as I am with signing Depay I don't think he is an adequate replacement if we lose Di Maria so we would need another attacking signing

I'd demand Veratti as part of any deal for Di Maria.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Michael Carrick will miss the final three games of the season with a calf problem.

The midfielder was injured during the 4-2 win over Manchester City last month.

"We tried everything but now we have to think about next season," Van Gaal told MUTV. "He shall not play anymore this season, it's better now to focus for him on next season and being fit to start."

Van Gaal says he wanted to wait before signing PSV Eindhoven attacker Memphis Depay but revised that plan because of interest from Paris St-Germain.

"I have been forced to sign him," he said. "We have to focus on the top four but I had to handle it because otherwise he would have signed for PSG."

Carrick out for the rest of the season, a virus in the squad and away to Palace tomorrow.

    Panic stations.

Valencia is probably the only player without any illness knowing our luck.

Tbf he has had a good season at palace which is why I'm worried

Hopefully we'll play Di Maria from the start tomorrow. Him and Young giving width with Mata behind Rooney for the pressure on their defence. Fellaini's height may be needed, but I don't think he should start. Need to stretch the game asap.

Sources report that we are preparing a bid for a goal as we speak.

I haven't seen anything here from FutureGuy or Woodie about this so I'd say thats just more speculation by the media.:D

In hindsight, it would have been funnier if they won it, it would be so bittersweet right now.

I wouldnt be too concerned about scoring against Palace, dont think they'd be able to setup as well defensively as the last few teams we have faced, we seem to be riding the bad varience wave in front of goal atm which will change eventually and hopefully this weekend. Palace do have a lot of pace on the counter though so could easily hit us, especially if we defend in the same manner as the Everton game.

Both teams have lost last 3 games.
Palace have conceeded 1.37 goals per game this season and at least one in each of the last 11 games they've played.

Might have a bit of Man utd win/over 2.5 goals.

will check odds when home later

Play Blind there with Herrera and Di Maria ahead of him. Middle of the park sorted

Palace have lost more home games then any other team, plus outside Bottom 3 only Villa have scored fewer goals.

In saying that we have only won 5 away so we can hardly be too confident.

Be confident of getting a result, just hope it 3 points, instead of 1.

I definitely think we will concede tomorrow. I also have a horrible feeling that LVG will want to play Rooney in midfield to fit RVP up front. Maybe Youngs run in the first team could be up, felt he was useless the last two games.

The Depay signing reminds me of the Hazard signing for Chelsea. Both have built a good reputation in their own leagues yet still very young. Hopefully Depay can have the sort of impact Hazard had at Chelsea. Overall it's a very positive signing and I'm excited to see him in a United shirt.

    De Gea
    Valencia (:() - Smalling - McNair - Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera - Di Maria
    Mata - Rooney - Young
    Rooney
I would love to see this team start against Palace.

He'll be twice as good... or twice as bad. I'm not sure how it works really.

Telegraph has a 'How United might line up next season'.

    Lloris
    Clyne, Hummels Rojo, Blind
    Young Carrick, Pogba
    Bale, Rooney, Depay

ok they gave no formation but that is the 11 players they used.

His hair. How does he do that with it his hair. What product does he use?

I'm guessing it's probably a step up from mine. Same age as me with better hair and more money. I'll be his bro.

Its no coincidence that Utd hit decent form when Rooney was plucked out of Center Mid and put up front. Look at the last few games when LVG has reverted back to using Rooney in midfield. Same s**** performances. Im worried he will again go with Rooney in midfield and RVP up front tomorrow.
A risk if that happens. Play players in their natural position and we should win no problems.
    Simples

Rooney has been in midfield because of injuries.
