Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Word that Pep Guardiola has already signed a pre-contract for Man City. The BPL would be the league to watch with Jose, LVG and Pep.

(Oh and of course the genius that is Brendan Rodgers :P)

Was funny when LVG said in the press conference yesterday that he said to the injured Carrick that every week in the media he gets better and better.
    Carrick laughed.

Well, its a battle between Falcao and RVP for the "under-performing striker" slot on the bench. Someone has to lose out.

No contest between the two of them. I'd be very surprised if that was the reason.

Wonder why LVG didn't mention Di Maria when he was asked about injuries yesterday???? Things aren't looking good for him. I really want him to stay for 1 more season so he can prove himself.

Yeah, a tika tika master, defensive genius and a long ball specialist, oh, and rodgers.

With talk of Naingolan, Pogba etc and the holding role - it is worth noting that according to LVG himself there are two versions of the 433 formation he prefers.

The is the 433 with the defensive aspect - Carrick in the holding role as an example. Then he has the 433 with a number 10 instead of the holding player.

It is possible that LVGcould look for a strong, battling midfielder to add to the midfield which would (possibly) allow him to play the more attacking 433 which we haven't really seen.

I think you still need one of those CMs to be strong defensively, even if they aren't always holding. Maybe Herrera could grow into that, it'd be great if he could add that too his game. I thought he showed some good reading and discipline when he was playing the DM in the last while, which surprised me.

Be careful, Rodgers might quote you on that.

Ashley Young has trained for most of the week with an achilles injury. #mulive [men]

Phil Jones needs to be strapped to a chair and be taught a lesson :D

What a strange first half that was,no real pattern to the game at all

    Still though up one nil,

3 points is all that matters this evening

Surely it would have made sense to put Evans at left back(where he has played before) and keep the central defensive partnership intact?

    Utterly baffling from LVG.

I don't see whats baffling about it, surely having a bit more speed in Jones against Bolasie is a good thing?

Can't trust Evans, he already looks a liability. His days are numbered.

Bolassie would literally cook Evans with his pace.

I wouldn't trust him more on the Left against Bolasie..

The amount of times Smalling has to cover Valencia is shocking

That's my man crush on Blind well and truly finished.

This 2nd half performance has been appalling so far.

Evans and Valencia are absolute liabilities. Jesus Christ.

mc nair looked good when played at rb but still valencia keeps his place

Ashley Young should be nowhere near the united team next season. LVG improved him this season but he never looks up when crossing and wastes most of his good positions, much like Valencia.

TBH, I wouldn't blame De Gea at all for leaving. He must be sick to his back teeth of playing behind that back 4.

If anyone deserves to be playing CL football next season its DDG

How many times has the right side looked so weak with Valencia there?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Its weird, Jones is playing on his weaker side and still Valencia looks the worse fullback.

If that ends up sealing top 4, I'm getting a shirt with his name on it next season.

It wasn't pretty. But I'll take it.

2 points away from CL football now. Not confident about either game left though. Too many people playing like they are on the way out. And should be with the attitude displayed today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Oh thank god, Chelsea draw tomorrow so we can be done this season
