Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is this movie counted as being part of phase one of the avengers project?

End credit scene would suggest yes.

    actually, wiki says it is:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Cinematic_Universe#Films

I had thought the issue with Ed Norton not being available to do the rest of the films had caused some kind of disconnection.

It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but its sort of the odd one out you know that weird cousin you don't like but turns out at family gatherings. There is some behind the scences issues with Ed Norton and Marvel so he didn't come back.

With Universal owning the distribution rights to Hulk films it may be an obstacle to releasing a future Hulk standalone film.

It's part of the Phase 1 boxset

The One Shot short 'The Specialist' also explains the last scene with Stark and General Ross.

Also it was only announced this week that William Hurt will be reprising his role as General Ross in Captain America: Civil War.

Whereas Ang Lee's Hulk is the really weird uncle who the less-annoying children take to 'cause he isn't afraid to get s**tfaced and is a breath of fresh air among all the other stuffy relatives.

Severely underrated part of the MCU.

The answer to the question is of course 'does it matter?', and the answer to that question the answer is 'of course not'.

'Phase' is nothing more than marketing guff.

Er... 'Phase One' may be marketing guff but the root of the question is 'is this movie part of the canon?' which does matter if you're a fan of the franchise.

when banner said in avengers 1 hes always angry when he turned into hulk, people freaked out and called **** on it, but the banner in avengers is a continuation or nortons banner in hulk 2008, where at the end hes in a remote cabin meditating, when his eye opens and its green, thats the moment when he learnt to control hulk, at least a bit of him,

so if he freely transforms into hulk, banner is driving, but if hes made turn into hulk, hulk is driving,

    avengers 2 i think shows
banner is getting more and more control,

Another question is, isn't there a pigeon sitting on a branch reflecting on existence that you might be more interested in than superheroes?

I need to re-watch the Phase 1 films, but at the time I thought Norton's Hulk film was the best of that group of films. I'd actually like to see a solo Ruffalo Hulk film, instead of 3 Captain Americas, 3 Thors, etc.

Stark is seen reviewing the footage of the fight at Culver University (from The Incredible Hulk) in Avengers 1. It's definitely canon.

One of the better MCU films, audience didn't warm to it unfortunately. That's why a sequel is only barely speculation.
