Hi, I am looking to buy a few things from US websites as they are much cheaper than any other online stores. The only problem is that they dont ship to countries outside the US. Does anyone know how I might be able to get them shipped to Ireland. I have looked at post forwarding companies but they charge a huge price.

add taxes, duties and delivery + do exchange rate. Price will be higher unless its a scam site selling fakes.

At present with dollar at $1.10 I'd find it difficult to see many products in USA being cheaper that here. Also USA websites add their own taxes at the end of a transaction.

Example, item costing $100 - add duty of 4% + vat of 23% + delivery charge, + vat and duty on delivery charge, so that even if it was, lets say $20 delivery, the total cost to you of the $100 dollar item would be €140 by the time it gets delivered to your door.

True. With the Euro dropping against the Dollar its hardly worth it. I think a lot of people on here must have a family friend willing to post items - lucky them.

You can still get caught, even if they fraudulently mark it as a gift when its not. The limit is still only €45 on genuine gifts.

Some items still be worthwhile as some have massive differences in RRP.

I am looking to continental europe sites now and see great savings, as sterling is not great either. Many have english translations of the sites nowadays.
Example, item costing $100 - add duty of 4% + vat of 23% + delivery charge, + vat and duty on delivery charg
Duty does not kick in until €150

Some countries can have lower RRP to begine with, e.g. if oakley are not popular in Spain they might reduce the RRP. With items like this you can get big differences, since the actual cost of the product can be very low to start.

My most recent buy was from germany, got it for less than half the RRP from the UK site I usually use. You can buy from various amazons, there are some search engines that check all the amazon sites. And some price check sites that search various shops in the EU. I will try and find them again.
