alternatives to iphone 5

    hi all,

    Im in the market for a new smartphone and looking at the iphone 5c or 5s.

    What are the alternatives from the other manufacturers ?

    The 5 seems to have reasonably good hardware and decent performance.

    I like the size of the iphone 5, the 6 is too big.

    Was at the shop yesterday and assistant was trying to flog me a Samsung A3, bit big if anything, what are the alternatvies in smaller phones

    iPhone 5 does not have good hardware if you compare to other manufactures.

    Geekbench tests the GPU, CPU and Memory.


    iOS
    iPhone 5c [4,0 inch] - 1241
    iPhone 5 [4,0 inch] - 1272
    Phone 5s [4,0 inch] - 2517


    Android
    Samsung Galaxy S6 [5,1 inch] - 4086
    Samsung Galaxy S5 mini [4,5 inch] - ????
    Motorola Moto X (2014) [4,7 inch] - 2864
    Sony Xperia Z1 Compact [4,3 inch] - 2686
    Motorola Nexus 6 [5,96 inch] - 3004



    If you want a small screen and good performance the 5S is the best, otherwise Xperia Z1 compact.
    Most phones today don't have small screens anymore, also iPhones are deliverd with 1GB ram and fixed storage, most Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry phones have 2-3GB ram, fixed storage + 128GB Micro SD card support.


    And remember, for the price of the iPhone 5S you can get an Xperia Z1 + 128GB micro SD card, and the Z1 is waterproof.
