Three Ireland rip off overpriced phones.

Since its April Fools Day today I wonder if these shocking overpriced phones on three.ie are some kinda joke played on us by that bespectacled gentleman Li Ka-Shing.

€29.99? :eek: Ah come on there's an expensive little shop nearby here in rural Ireland that sells these phones network free unlocked for €29.

Argos have them UNLOCKED SIM FREE for €19.95 (normally €24.95 though they had them on offer for €12.99 and as low as €10 at times)

Tesco Mobile http://www.tescomobile...playPhone.aspx?p=141 always seem to have them at €9.99-€15 or free with a top up purchase.


Before the merger o2 had these on offer in 2013 for €20. I bought one in Xtravision and got a free €20 voucher.

So Three want almost €30 for this phone which is not only non subsidised and overpriced but will be sim locked too and will require you having to top up in credit 5x the price of the phone just to get it locked.

where's the rip off?

Please don't say one shop is charging more than another!

btw the three phones include €10 call credit - it doesn't say €10 free clal credit, it says Includes €10 call credit, hence €10 of the price is call credit.

I can shopw you tons of items in argos that can be got cheaper in a local shop - doesn;t mean argos are suddenly called ripoff.

Three are selling it with 10 euro top up, so effectively its 29.99. Get the special offer in argos and save a few quid - of course , But a rip off? i just dont see it?
Re sim locking -if you buy a phone from 3, i think your very likely to be a 3 customer. A lot of people never change provider. so sim locked only matters to some people.

i think if you shop around you can save a few quid. Its the same in all consumer transactions, no?
