Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No, it is lidls 10 euro off for 50 euro voucher and lady at till rejects by saying we dont accept milk powder.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If it was a Tesco voucher, the till operator wouldn't have to think about it as the system would automatically do the checking. As it's not, the till operator has to manually check what you're buying and is clearly being overly cautious.

Is Cow And Gate 3 Growing Up Milk Powder 1+ Years 900G an infant formulae?

I always thought it was only the first stage milk that was referred to as formula as Boots do a promotion on some 'follow on milks' which they legally couldn't do if it was classed as formula - if you know what I mean?

So... will the Sunday World have the €20 off €100 tomorrow ?

    From Lidl Ireland on Facebook
Lidl Ireland Check out Saturday's Irish Independent & The Star and the Sunday World. Thanks.

Hi is it €10 or €20? Thanks

Lidl Ireland It's €20 off when you spend €100. Enjoy

And from Aldi Ireland on Facebook:
We have been notified that there is a hoax 40% off Aldi coupon being circulated. This post is fraudulent and can not be redeemed in our stores. The only money off voucher we currently have in circulation is €20 off when you spend €100 which is available in this weekends Sunday Independent and Sunday World.

    – We accept spend & save coupons only from Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Lidl and Aldi

I would have thought they are both the same. I wonder if it was manually spotted or rejected at the end automatically. i.e. did jai99 present the lidl/aldi voucher at the end and was it then rejected.

It is not like they just minus 10 euro at the end, they have a laminated page of competitor vouchers that they scan so I thought it would be identical to scanning in tesco vouchers at the end.

The €10 off €50 was a better voucher. Ive just used the €20 off in Lidl this morning and its hard enough to get up to the €100 in one shop without buying unnecessary items.
Plus while I was at the till the two customers in front of me both had issues with the totals, with money off items not been charged the reduced prices.
So keep an eye on the till receipt and money off goods

So Sunday World is the best paper to get as there's 2 vouchers (Lidl & Aldi) in it, €2.80 for €40 worth of vouchers.
I'm sure there's something worth reading in it?

cant/wont even get near spending the 100e to get 20e off

Have they stated why they stopped doing the 50e ones?

From past years they have done this in the final weekend before Christmas, I suppose they want people to do their final big shop there.

According to the staff member I asked today, he said it was for a couple of reasons.
Final food shop as said above before Christmas, people buy most of their booze this week & the turkeys arrive today.

No, competitor vouchers have to be put through manually. That's why some people are still getting away with using them to buy gift vouchers even though the Ts&Cs clearly spell out in the most simplest of English that that's not allowed.

This is at its wierdest when using a Lidl 20% off voucher and the till operater goes searching for a pen and paper to work out 20% of your total spend!

Well in my tesco whenever I used lidl or aldi vouchers they use a laminated sheet, and scan them in, all the tills have them.

Never heard of a 20% off voucher, it's usually a specific monetary value (€10 or €20)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,854 ✭✭✭✭whelan2

used 3 vouchers in tesco last night, 2 x 20 euro lidl ones and one 10 euro aldi one from last week. Each time shed scanned a bar code that said competitor token and put in the amount

The laminated bar codes they scan tell the system a genetic competitor voucher is being used but they have to manually confirm that the required spend printed on the voucher has been made.

The 20% off (€50 or more) vouchers are issued by Lidl to customers in a store in the week or so before said store closes for renovations. Typically a book of six vouchers valid for six consecutive weeks.

Valid in all Lidl ROI stores and, therefore, in all Tesco stores too.

    What's the latest update?

    Are the vouchers finished,?

Or have we one last chance this weekend?

It'd be nice for one last chance to stock up on spirits (in tesco).

I think finished, also Tesco spirit prices have now returned to normal.

Is it TRUE, Tesco accepts ALDI & LIDL Vouchers ??

I find this hard to believe.

Does any other Supermarkets accept them ?

Tesco (and only Tesco) currently do but there is some speculation that it will end in the near future.

in another thread someone said a tesco employee said it would finish on 9th jan. I had been getting supervalu ones in the door too, seems lidl and aldi are finished.

I used my 31st dec aldi one just now. I showed it to the young lad before he started scanning just in case it was finished, he looked and said grand. However after finishing scanning he scanned in his laminated sheet vouchers, looked at the screen and starts saying "oh wait, ummm, I might have to check... ummm, ah doesn't matter". So I don't know what was on his screen but if you have an aldi one and plan on using it in tesco I would do it asap. There was a big queue and he did not want to delay things.

It was possibly since I had 2 yellow stickered reduced items in my shopping (but below a euro each), there was no baby milk or any prohibited things or possible grey area things like gift vouchers, phone credit etc.

    they don't.

Lidl & aldi could have been clever and released 99euro off a 100euro spend valid only on stephens day and new years day. Days when I think they were both closed but tesco are open ;)
