I have seen a recent post abut this so sorry for opening another thread. When I try and add to an existing one it keeps getting blocked saying I am trying to add a URL which I am not.

I have just switched from the F1000 to the F2000 Eircom router and my VOIP connection is lost. It was fine on the F1000 (Zyxel) but the F2000 (Huawei) is preventing my VOIP from working.

There are SIP settings in the router but I believe they are specifically for a POTS telephone connected direct to the router on the dedicated phone ports. I don't think Eircom promote the use of these as your regular phone will attach to your ADSL splitter anyway.

My (non Eircom) VOIP supplier has suggested 1) allow access to/from a complete range of IP addresses that they use. I don't think it is that though as if I turn off the firewall completely it makes no difference. 2) Make sure SIP ALG is disabled - I have same problem as the other thread, how? The manual is pretty basic and 3) UDP - Alive time out needs to be set to 200 seconds. Not investigated this one yet as point 2 seems to be the most likely culprit. Any further with finding out if SIP ALG can be turned off on an F2000?

Answered my question - Hi Alan

this was easy in the end, logged in to F2000 router, go to Internet/Forwarding/ALG then uncheck SIP ALG. Bingo, SIP service works fine now! Not sure why you wouldn't of mentioned that?

Could not post a reply to Alan's mail as a new user it thinks I am trying to post a URL by doing so.

    Cheers

    Hi Airliner

I have indeed noticed a few reports of this. I have contacted technical support who have advised me that we will be unable to assist with making modifications to suit third party features like VOIP but you are more than welcome to explore this at your own leisure/discretion. The best advice I can offer is to check out the F2000 user manual located here: http://support.eircom.net/article/TECHNICAL_QUESTIONS

    I'm sorry I can't do more airliner

    Cheers
    Al
