Dexter rehashed ,I cannot think of a show it has less in common with .
Maybe you mean Dexters laboratory, you would still be wrong but not so far of the mark

Also Dexter ran out of ideas fast ! It was top top quality for at least 4 seasons !

But Dexter went on for 8 seasons! I agree season 4 was the peak year with John Lithgow. It has lots in common with Limitless a guy with incredible intelligence who outwits law enforcement and solves crimes, and only does wrong for the right reasons. Dexter did this as well.
Not to mention the quirky will/he won't he with Jennifer Carpenter. Oh and he hides a secret from the Jennifer Carpenter character and she is the only one who "really knows" him. Et cetera, et cetera.

The basic premise is still the same only that the Bryan character does not commit murders!

As the show Dexter went on it got gradually worse. The last season was particularly dire as the antagonist's in the show got less and less believable. I can see limitless is in danger of going the same way.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Other than JC was in both there is nothing in terms of genre , tone etc in common , nothing , nada, zilch.
It has more in common with Dukes of Hazard in that they both have had episodes with a car in them.

And to say a show that had 4 of the strongest opening season ever ran out of steam fast !
Dexter is in the top echelon of all time shows for those first 4 seasons greater than 99% of other shows in the history of television.

To say 4 years is fast for a tv show ! What are you comparing it too, there is only a handful of shows that operated at a top level for 4+ seasons.
Yes the quality dipped afterwards and the last season was disappointing , but name a show that this has not happened to ?

    Banshee
    Breaking Bad
    The Wire
    Seinfeld
    Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
    24
    Oz
    Curb Your Enthusiasm
    Game of Thrones
    Louie
    Buffy
    Angel.

Granted the last 2 are debatable but I certainly thought they got better as they went along

I liked the last episode, I think the main problem I have is that the lead is too ordinary, he is not quirky enough. Dexter mentioned above is far more memorable or Sherlock , their abilities have them on the edge of madness

Some good shows here but strong for more than 4 seasons ?
Banshee a personal favorite show of mine but season 4 is a long drop in Quality from the other 3 seasons
    BB I never liked
The wire great show peaked in season 4 5th season was weak far weaker than the rest
    Seinfeld -Agreed
Its Always Sunny -Marmite I cant judge
24 I stopped watching after 3 seasons , pretty much universally agreed it jumped the shark somewhere between 2 and 4
    OZ great show -Agreed
    Curb great Show Agreed
GOT , certainly getting weaker each season but will give you this.
    Louie Agreed
Buffy Peaked in Season 3 got considerably worse every season after this
Angel -I always personally liked this show but it is not a great show , not even really close

These are pretty much the pantheon of great shows , saying a show like Dexter went downhill fast after 4 immaculate seasons is hog wash , your comparisons are other elite 1% shows , and in that I can argue half of them

In a way I am glad of this because they have done everything they could have done with the show during the year.
Anything else and they would be just repeating themselves.

At least it did not end half way through a season like in Deadwood!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
