    KATS Theatre Group are coming to Cleere’s Theatre for three nights of drama from 21st May to 23rd of May with their upcoming production ‘KATS 1 AKTS’. Featuring an incredible mix of KATS regulars as well as some amazing talent making their KATS debuts, here is just a flavor of what to expect:


    Setting the tone for the Eugene O’Neill dominant First Act, we open with Kevin Mooney (Devious Theatre) and Kevina Hayes (KATS, Kilkenny Musical Society) performing two of O’Neill's raw, goose-bump inducing monologues.


    The mouthwatering feast of drama continues as we take you to 1920’s gritty New York tenement for 'The Web' by Eugene O'Neill which will be directed by Alan Butler (KATS, Devious Theatre). The cast features Elaine O'Hara, John Prendergast, Ben Warner, Kevin Mooney, Niall O'Riordan & Tommy Maher.


    Next, in his directorial debut, Niall Bambrick (KATS, KMS, Watergate Productions) takes over affairs and the countdown beings with 'Murder by Midnight' by Jeff Goode. Hotel detective Dick Piston has less than ten minutes to solve a brutal murder or risk losing the case to the day shift. This hilarious over the top farce is one twist after another and features a very stellar cast of John Holland, Kevina Hayes & Niall O'Riordan.


    Finally, we pay our respects to writer Colin Calvert with his play ‘Last Respects’. Henry (deceased) has decreed that a wake should be held in his honour at the funeral parlour. The guests, previously unknown to each other, are his wife and his two mistresses. Hilarity ensures in this black comedy directed by Niall Bambrick and features a superb cast of KATS regulars Matt Berry, Nicola Brennan & Maeve O’Flynn along with Emma De Burca making her KATS debut.
