Can anyone tell me if i'm covered or do should I add in some things? Aiming for a C.

    -Weathering and Erosion
    -Karst Landscapes
-River landforms, rejuvenation, isostacy, 3 Gorges Dam

    Regional:
    -The Paris Basin (Map, P + S + T)
    -Brazil (Map, P + S + T, Population - Migration etc.

    Elective:
    -Population Density and distribution
    -Overpopulation
    -Migration... Rural-Urban... Impact on Donor/Host

    + Biome
you should probably do plate tectonics for Physical
and something on Ireland for regional

Will I be okay with just learning
    1)characteristics of a soil
    2)human interactions with the soil
    3)soil forming processes
4)adaptions of flora and fauna in a biome
5)influence of climate on a biome
    6)human interactions with biomes

I absolutely hate the characteristics of a biome and I honestly don't have enough time to learn it, so should I be okay with these answers?

When ye are saying human interaction on rivers do ye mean that general question that comes up regarding either rivers coast or mass movement and you have a choice?

Does anyone know for Ireland and the EU Q- should I learn 2 impacts (impact of economy + culture) or just 1 (impact of economy?)

Will learning only human interaction with soil and characteristics of a biome be ok?

Is it hard to achieve 26-30 marks out of 30 in Human Geography for OS/Aerial questions for example,"Examine three different functions of _________,using evidence from the aerial photograph to support your answer."

Generally there is at least 4-5 functions in the photo and only three are necessary.I know its broken down into 2 marks per function identified,2 marks for photo evidence of each function and 3xSRP for each function but this seems extremely easy.

Is it that simple to achieve 30/30 marks in these questions?

I get that it's 20% for Field work and 80% for the exam

    buuut

How do you calculate it? I'm trying to work out last minute marks

    Addition?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 Blue Spark

    20% for the project
    16% for short questions
4% for each Part A (12% in total)
6% for each Part B and C (36% in total)
16% for the choice question at the end

    Addition?

If you don't have anything helpful to say the day before the exams, don't bother replying at all. You know what they meant.

Would you add anything to this from physical geography?
    Sedimentary and metamorphic rocks
Human interaction with the rock cycle
    Feature of erosion and deposition
    Impact of humans on rivers
    Isostatic processes

That has agreat chance of you being covered. Id be happy with that and feel safe.

risky, id cover adaptations and human with biomes also. Human with biomes came up on mock so it is a potential.

    6)human interactions with biomes

Not sure you realise but you more or less have a characteristics essay done in them. climate = influence of climate on biomes, flora = adaptations, and sure human with biome will contain the soil or adaptations will contain the fauna. But anyways you look very covered. I think you will have 2 questions.

My opinion, Plate tectonics = 1 question, rocks = 2 questions. I would study rocks over plate tectonics anyday.

    Hello,
I'm 17 and doing my leaving this Wednesday , I am wondering something about the geography paper.

For the long questions , I have to answer a total of 4questions each containing 3 under different topics, I would like to know am I able to attempt 5/6 if I had time, and will they mark me on the best one ? or will they only correct 4 ?

    Thanks for any help!

Not sure if this was answered for you.
They will mark them all and give you the marks for the best ones.

Hi everyone, a desperate Leaving Certer here, anyone got any predictions for any part of the Geography exam they think is very likely to come up?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 antifun

Is there any cutthroat structure on certain questions that I should be aware about?

For example the option you need 4 or 3 aspects.

For regional questions you need to be careful with your subcontinental, Irish, European, and etc.

When it says reference to example, you must state what you're going to reference early on.

    Anything else?

Does anyone have any regional and physical geography predictions? I'm running out of time and I've to try pass honours maths on the same day so any suggestions are greatly appreciated

I have all my physical done! But so much to do in regional and so little time! Would it be a good idea to go on examit.ie and get all the answers for past questions and just learn them and that's it or would that be too risky?? Please let me know thank you

Learn tertiary well for Ireland, Sub-continental/continental and a european region, I have a feeling it will come up this year and its pretty handy once you know the factors to talk about.

I'm also doing concept of a region etc
