Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Darmian to Mancherster United confirmed by Van Gaal. On his way for medical.

Thats a 25k saving on Cechs wages and a near 3m profit on the tranfer fee. I'll take that for a capable deputy to Courtois.

But that's my point. Money has the game ruined. A good goalie going to a club knowing he'll rarely play.

It's an odd one. To go from one of the most coveted keepers to chelseas back up. And he's still quite young for a keeper. Fair enough, he lost his spot to Butland but he's possibly delusional if he thinks he'll usurp Courtois

The only thing worse than his attitude is the condition of his knees. Hoping he passes the medical so we can be rid of him.

There's a reason we are taking such a hit only 12 months on. Paid €6m only expecting about €2m back. Maybe more hopefully because it's an English club.

    Passed his medical apparently.

Fiorentina offered €2m. Watford are paying €3.5m according to local papers.

Probably no other offers in for him.

Looking at the other top 6/7 clubs, hes not going to be a huge upgrade on any of their GKs, so clubs will be reluctant to spend the money on him.

Hes got 12 months left on his Stoke contract, I think, and Stoke, Begovic and his agent know Chelsea need a GK, its basically name your price or end up with a terrible option on the bench like Green.

Its not a done deal yet but Marco Van ginkel has joined Stoke on loan and reportedly, he was to be part of the deal to bring Begovic to Chelsea.

Jaysus, home grown and all but City is a graveyard for the likes of Delph. Will Leeds see a few quid from that I wonder?

Not sure but a few of around 8 million is been talked about

Begovic will like Delph probably stay a year or two on the bench rolling in the money before moving to actually play somewhere else.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,853 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Well Delph has already been replaced as Villa have just announced the signing of Nice's Senegalese CM Idrissa Gueye for what is believed to be 8/9m

at least 3/4 more signings of first team quality are needed now after a lot of the deadwood was shifted in the first half of the summer especially if Benteke leaves

Am i the only one that sees Delph getting plenty of starts at City??

Hes a little rocket down the wing and can pass the ball so why not??

Hes certainly a better option than Navas down the right

Is he not a centre midfielder primarily?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Might be late with this, but West Ham are signing Ogbonna from Juve.

I think he could end up being a great signing for them. Didn't see much of him at Juve, admittedly, and he never really pushed on from the promise he showed at Torino, but he's still only 27 and alongside Reid, he should do well.

Atletico have been brilliant at replacing players over the last couple of years. I don't know anything about Carrasco but I'm already expecting big things.

And Monaco look set to replace Carrasco with El Shaarawy who I think will thrive if he can stay injury-free

United fee for scweinsteiger is rumoured to be 5million sterling.

    Very good buy.

    Exactly what they need.

I see him starting pretty much every game.

Schweinsteiger has mistake written all over him. Thirty, loads of injuries, moving to a faster and more physical league. At least he'll be cheap enough I guess.

Would have been a great signing on the pitch 3 or 4 years ago but now I'd say the biggest impact he'll have will be in the dressing room. Great for the young lads to have a winner like him to look up to.

Even if it's €14m as being touted, its pocket money to United. Its as close to non-risk as it comes. We'll save about £30m this year alone with the wages of RVP, Falcao and Nani off the books. Or Big Ed can just sign a new sponsorship deal to cover it :P

Alot of people said the same when gary mc allister was signed by Liverpool just because a player is older doesn't mean they can't bring something big to the table for a club.

Great signing for Newcastle alright. Fits the bill perfectly for them in terms of what they need and what type of player they usually sign.

I think the majority of fans realise that but it still is a coup to get Schweinsteiger and fans are rightly excited by it.
Good business done by United so far this summer.
