Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

[Available] Room for rent - Finglas, Dublin

Hi everyone. I just stumbled across this and thought this was the perfect opportunity to see what the thinking of this situation is.

My sister and her partner have a 3 bedroom house in Finglas. They are looking to take on a renter from September, the house has car parking, located a 5 minute walk from the 40 bus stop which goes straight up O'Connell Street (travel time 20 mins, 30 in traffic) and has full amenities (washing machine, cooker, fridge, internet etc.)

They haven't settled on a price as of yet but it's looking like between €500 - 600 per month which is what they have gathered is the going rate for a single room in our area and the final amount will depend on whether bills will be included. Any ideas on how to advertise the available room, other than on boards? Many people hear the word 'Finglas' and are immediately put off which is a shame because the house is absolutely gorgeous. Also, whats the thinking on the ballpark price? Too high, too low? I'm trying to help them as they both work full time and my sister is working like a dog to save up to do her masters but I have zero clue!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Really? Again, I don't honestly know and they've come up with the figure based on rooms for rent in the surrounding areas. What would be an appropriate figure? Thanks for the input BTW, it's greatly appreciated.

Way too high for a single room in an owner occupied house, even with bills included. Sharing with a couple they will need to include bills otherwise it gets too complicated, I would say max €420 including bills, I would be leaning towards €350 without.
