Josh Homme. Now I'm seriously biased because QOTSA are far and away my favourite band, but the man is a god.

For me it has to be Eddie Vedder, nobody else comes close to frontman perfection in recent years

Im not particularly a queen fan but Freddie Mercury would be the best in my opinion. There is a live concert, I think its at wembley, and it's amazing the way he leads the crowd.

In terms of copycats, definitely. Every second busker tries to sound like him.

    Morto.

As above. They are both dicks. All hard and acting the big man on stage surrounded by security and roadies.

    Knobs.

    Of course not, Anthony.

    Buttholes? I think so!

Iggy pop, like a caged animal that's after been let lose on the stage

I am basing my selection on the energy and how they hold the crowd in the palm of their hand during the entire show, almost leaving the rest of the band in the shadows.
I know it's been said already, and it will be said again.. but No 1 has to be Freddie Mercury,(Queen).
Dave Gahan, (Depeche Mode), keeps the crowd fully engaged.
Billy Joe Armstrong, (GreenDay), like being on a roller coaster. Great crowd interaction.
    Others trail along somewhere behind.

But a special mention does go out to...

    Christy Dignam, (Aslan).
    Pete Doherty, (Babyshambles, Libertines).
    Dave Browne, (PictureHouse)

Yep Iggy Pop and the Stooges get my vote.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Mentioned only twice in 8 pages, so clearly not a popular opinion, but for me its Liam Gallagher. i know a lot of people think he's a bit of a dick. But, the man has immense stage presence. And he does it all hardly moving a muscle. Great voice for Rock n Roll. I love seeing him live.

Poor guy opened for Madonna at Slane, no one seemed interested in listening to him.

Calling a fellow a fxxxxt while threatening to go down and buttfxxk him?

    That's hilarious.

Drummer looks like he's squirming though.
