Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd like to formally congratulate Sunderland on staying up following their 1-1 draw with Arsenal this evening.

Who would have thought they'd score from their first shot on target.

Nobody concedes quite as well from the first shot on target like us.
I think this will be a low scorer, two one to gunners, or one one.
I don't want to see Sunderland go down, but with second place still possible I'd like a decent performance from us, including Theo on the wing or up front and some wilshere from the start.

Wilshere and Gibbs in for Coq and Monreal. Very attacking team there, not sure on the balance. Shocked Theo didnt get a run out and more shocked Santi didnt get a rest.

The boss seems to have completely lost faith in Wally

Yup agreed, looks like he is off!

    2 or 3-0 to Arsenal.

No chance of Sunderland getting the point they need from this so hopefully their goal difference doesn't take too much of a hit and United turn up on Sunday.

Ya know what...the more I watch Sanchez the more I understand why Walcott can't be in the same team
...Sanchez as good as he is gives away a mountain of possession. Theo the exact same. Sanchez is better attacker and that's the decision in my opinion.

Nice play from jack. Ozil shouldve kept that down, although difficult technique

Jack Wilshere is bad at football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Remember Wilshere was being linked with 50 and 60 million moves away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,116 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Looks like a walk in the park for Arsenal, but they'd rather be home playing the X-Box. None of them seem interested.

The 70th minute substitution from Wenger can't come quick enough

13,38 Mill euro according to tranfermarkt

How is Seb Coates doing? Advocaat seems to like him.

For anyone who wants to know what the Champions League final will be like, watch this.
Just ignore the non-existent threat up front, from the team that has all the possession here.

Made a manful block there to keep it scoreless. Seems to be a threat at set pieces.

Very solid at the back, and could have had a header for Sunderland from their corner. I assume he's the guy that was (is?) at Liverpool.

    :o

Three gilt edged chances. No goals.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,553 ✭✭✭Spanish Johnny

Theo completely neglected his defensive duties for that chance. Terrible.

Second super miss from Fletcher - thinks he's Giroud!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

    re jacool

Yeah he is on loan, I'd have to wonder if he has a future at Liverpool but if he keeps doing well and Sunderland stay up hopefully they'll make an offer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

    Bad miss

Prediction 1-0 Arsenal, Ozil free-kick. No-one else looks likely to score.

Which is why they estimate his current value at 4 million euro :D

Given that a draw suits both teams really I wonder if they'll sue for peace in about 5 minutes.

Doesn't suit Arsenal. If they draw they need a draw or better at the weekend. A win today leaves us playing the reserves at the weekend in preparation for the cup final .

Apologies, yes I was looking at the wrong column :o

Edit - Arsenal goal difference means you can't be caught (really).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Arsenal's inability to have a plan b is why they won't win the league for a long long long time.

    Brilliant from Sunderland.

Dunno, its very hard when a team is as motivated to do a solid defensive job.
Sunderland were disciplined, brave and willing and fair play to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Ah that was class, Advocaat has had a rough few years in management. Delighted for John O'Shea too.

Steve Bruce or Newcastle...come on Newcastle!!

How in **** did we not win that?

Form is worrying atm coming up to ye final. :(

So that's what a team who fight to survive looks like... Bloody hell. Relying on Man United because we can't do it ourselves.
