Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice please - neighbours dog

I'd like some advice please on my situation. I live in a semi d house, each house has aback garden seperated by a fence. Next door have a very large and energetic dog; I think he is a boxer cross of some sort.
First issue we had was when he broke through our fence and thrashed our garden. Being understanding neighbours, we took the apology and they fixed the fence. They then proceeded to tie the dog on to a chain and he howled and barked all day until someone call the authorities. Completely cruel! They made some other arrangements (I think the dog went to a family member during the day).
Recently, the dog broke through to us again. This time, I was out in my garden with my 2 year old whom the dog ran at - I managed to get my little boy in on time. The dog then jumped on me (I'm pregnant) but I went inside. To be clear, I don't think he was attacking, he is more playful but how could I know? Again, apologies, fence fixed and won't happen again.
Guess what I cam home to this evening? Another part of the fence pulled down, garden trashed.....I called to their house, they would not answer, have boarded up the fence again but are clearly ignoring the issue.

What is the best course of action here that is fair to everyone, including the dog? My main priority is the safety of my son and child to be. I love animals and am quite used to them and know that it is not sensible to trust a dog with a child. Especially one that is locked up all day and full of beans like he is.

If anyone would like to give an opinion here please do - I'm so angry at their lack of responsibility and it's not acceptable that the are so careless about this.

In reality the dog is bored and they obviously don't have the time to give him the exercise or attention it deserves.

They could very easily get a fenced in area of their garden which would at least keep him from getting back into your garden. This would be basically a metal fence with a concrete bottom, boxers are not the most intelligent dogs and pretty much are always big pups and obviously quite large so he might just run into you or your son playing but his weight alone could cause injury.

You can make complaint to the dog warden as you've given them ample chances, maybe write them a letter about your concerns and wait for them to reply first before doing anything.

Call the dog warden. They are unable to control a big dog; let the warden sort it.

+1 And personally I'd be building a wall that the dog won't be able to knock down again!

Thank you all. We cannot build a wall because we are renting, but I am seeking my landlords advice. I think I have no choice but to call the dog warden. I feel sorry for the poor dog, he is not being looked after. How stupid can people be? Getting a dog that size and leaving it a small garden all day.
