Wow. Surely there should still be a scrum though considering when the knock on was?

    Lucky, lucky Munster.

Surely that had to go back for the scrum?

Awful way to win or lose a match. Very scrappy second half.

For a while I though we were beginning to witness an improved Ian Keatley. But no, he's just as much a bottler as he's always been.

Had the 80 mins passed when the knock on occurred?

    ;)

Woeful finish, to be anywhere near that position is a travesty.

The clock had to be reset for the scrum surely, still a penalty to play for in the Ospreys mind.

Jammy 'ist win you' ll ever see!

  • Administrators Posts: 54,510 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

How can they not scrum there?

There was time on the clock when the knock on happened, it's not Osprey's fault Nigel didn't blow up?

Lucky doesn't go anywhere near describing that. Mad stuff.

Ospreys should feel very very hard done by.

Why the linesman called it but he didn't hear him. He was always going to go back for it.

Ha ha. Mad stuff Ted. Talk about making hard work of it.

Ospreys should feel very very hard done by.

Why? That was a clear knock on at the end.

Ospreys weren't good enough to capatalise on a terrible Munster performance

Are you allowed go back as many phases as you want now?

Because if he'd called it at the time there would have been a restart. Was there not a munster hand on the ball also?

    My god Keatley was bad.

He' often very inconsitent and ive seem him play pretty bad but that was actually farsical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,536 ✭✭✭case885

Foley just can't look past JJ leaving, keatley shouldn't start the final but no doubt he will.

The linesman called it though. He couldn't stop play in case he made a mistake.

Because Nigel not calling it meant Munster managed to avoid having to scrum.

Great game!! Very little in game, very lucky at end... At least we have one Irish team there... If Owens sees knock on its a scrum and there is still time for it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,801 ✭✭✭Roanmore

Delighted with the win but I'd be pissed off with Owens if I was an Ospreys fan. He was told it was an knock on but let play go on. If he gave the scrum Ospreys could have got a penalty. All ifs and maybes but the end was totally unsatisfactory.

Did Keatley get any kick in the second half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭mohawk

Who put Keatley in the position?

    My thoughts exactly.

They persisted with Keatley for far too long and now JJ is leaving. JJ is never going to be the player we think he can be sitting on the bench for 75 mins of a game.

Hand wasn't on ball when it was knocked forward.

    15 seconds left. Munster ball.

Ospreys should feel very very hard done by.

Why? Munster dominated most of the game, missed an absolute ****load of points from kicks, lost key players to injury, and in the end Nigel missed a very clear knock on.

It was a deserved victory for Munster. If Ospreys had scored a try in the end they would have deserved it for hanging in, and hitting back with tries at key stages.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,510 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

The end of that game was another display of Pro 12 officiating nonsense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

If we can play that badly and with so many mistakes and still win, it ain't so bad in my book.

    We march up north.

He couldn't kick snow off a rope. That's on him.

2 from 9 from the kicking tee and 2 tries gifted to them and we still won....we never make it easy for ourselves

Justice was done and the right team one, the only nonsense was not killing the obvious knockon earlier

That was exactly the nonsense. Ospreys were denied the chance to compete in the scrum, Nigel wasted their own time when he couldn't hear his assistant call the knock on.

He should have killed it earlier, and instead of it being full time it should have been a Munster scrum with time left on the clock.

The fact he let it go on just ran down the clock and meant Munster didn't have to put in to a scrum that by rights they should have been doing.

I know Keatley had an absolute mare off the tee, but I thought he was good in general play. He passed very well, and also had some nice kicks out of the hand.

I'm not sure how anyone could say Ospreys were hard done by. It was a ridiculously obvious knock on, and Owens was standing right beside it.

Compare that football. Mistake wouldn't have been spotted and the wrong team would have won. It's a great system they have.

Nobody is saying it wasn't a knock on.

People are saying it should not have been full time when he went back and reviewed it. Munster should have had to scrum.

And a bunch of shocking kicks from hand, missed restarts, and some very poor passes.
