Drugs and Alcohol Irish HL essay??

    Hi i am absoloutely stuck on what to say for this! my summer test is tomorrow and i need it written out and learned by tonight! all help is welcome!

    1) In your introduction include a nice seanfhocal about alcohol. Something like 'Bíonn blas ar an mbeagán' or ‘Nuair a bhíonn an t-ól istigh, bíonn an ciall amuigh'. Talk about how prevalent alcohol and drugs are in irish society. "Tá tionscal an alcóil fréamhaithe go láidir inár sochaí. Aithnítear ár dtír glas I ngach cearn den domhain de bharr íomhá na nÉireannach mar dhream atá tugtha don deoch." etc etc. In recent years drugs becoming more prevalent.

    2) Talk briefly, maybe, about the health benefits of alcohol in moderation, but acknowledge how little people drink "sa bhealach seo".

    3) Fochultúr na meisce i measc an t-aosa óig... "stiúgtha ólta ag deireadh na hoíche/ caoch ar meisce/ an réaltacht as a ríocht". Talk about young men getting into fights with terrible consequences. "Déanann siad rudaí nach ndéanfaidís dá mbeidís ina stuaim". Also talk about in context of drugaí.

    4) "Chun éalú ón saol réadúil". Reference recession.. "Casann daoine chun na drugaí in am an ghátair ach ní chruthaíonn siad faic ná fríde ach a thuilleadh fadhbanna"... Is deacair eirí as drugaí/ deochanna meisciúla nuair a thosnaíonn tú.

    5) Peer pressure. "Is deacair easaontú le turaim na coitianta agus do neamhspleáchas féin a chothú agus diúltiú don ól/drugaí". Maybe include a reference to role models/ singers using them and "déanann daoine soineanta, neamhurchóideacha athris orthu"

    6) Bás ar na bóithre de bharr an t-alcól agus drúgaí. "Tuairiscítear le déanaí go méadaíonn fiú braoinín beag alcóil I dtiománaí an baol go mbeadh sé I dtimpiste." "an teorainn alcóil ró-árd"

    7) You could even include a paragraph on sport. "Faigheann na lúthcleasaithe urraíocht ó na comhlachtaí mhóra agus bíonn siad faoi bhrú mhillteanach. Casann siad chuig drugaí mar dhídean deiridh". Relationship between alcohol and CLG/ sport in general in Ireland.

    8) End on what needs to be done "feachtas fónta a chur ar bun chun dul I ngleic leis an fadhb" and find a suitable seanfhocal.


    Pick out a few of the points mentioned. The only reason I typed this up was as revision for myself, but I hope it helped. Please learn to write your own essays using a few nice phrases. You will remember them far more easily and be able to manipulate them.
