Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nasty enough from McGrath

Good spot. Didn't see that on first look.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,817 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Not as bad as what we saw on Heaslip in the 6Ns but still Jack McGrath is a lucky boy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 597 ✭✭✭UnitedWeStand

I miss when our maul was destructive. Its not bad but I don't see it as anywhere near of a threat as the commentators try to make out.

A dumb bit of play from McGrath

    That's retarded from McGrath

    In the bin now. Deservedly.

Madigan certainly couldn't have claimed to have been rucking there either...

Clumsy from McGrath but not a lot in it. Yellow is right.

Madigan rucking on his own man's arm....

maul isnt great but the baa-baas are so illegal at every simgle one

    should have been red.

    he could miss the rwc

    All offside there...

Clumsy? It's not like he was walking through a room not looking where he was going and fell over a stool, he deliberately dropped a knee into the back of a prone player.

I can't handle the commentary pairing of Quinlan and Robson.

Still think he is lucky enough (for now anyway).

I like the look of O'Shea. No thrills, does what it says on the tin.

That's a beaut from Pienaar. Even the clearance brought them where they would have been if he'd gone straight for touch.

He's so solid in defense. That tackle on Kirchner earlier preventing the pass, really agressive hands in the tackle.

    Madigan's touch finders are terrific

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Mads kicking from hand has been good.

Pretty dire stuff to be honest.

Yeah, clumsy. We don't have a clue if he deliberately did anything.

I'll have to see it again but it looked to me that he went in to try and clear the player who had taken the carrier to ground and his knee was leading.

I don't know what it is about Quinlan that winds me up so much. He just states the obvious. I guess that's what a commentator is supposed to do.

This game would put you to sleep. Don't think there was much in McGrath's knee at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,632 ✭✭✭ssaye2

Are summer bans games or weeks generally

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Reddan has been poor, as has most of our pack. I know this is a glorified friendly, but it's still a chance to impress Schmidt.

Jennings is the best Irish player on the pitch.

They're game weeks these days. Hartly got a 4 week ban, but it takes him upto the first game of the world cup.

would like to see a wide angle. have only seen it once and thought he tried to shove the lads over the ball and his knee caught the baa baas player. I thought Madigan was more guilty then McGrath

He's just so nice. But incredibly dull. I still reckon he'd make a very personable host but as the man to provide the actual expert analysis he doesn't do it for me. The other guy Robson needs to dial it back a bit. Not every game of rugby is epic and incredible.

I'd actually like to see Jackson on now. He could open things up a bit.

COS did have his man though, Gilroy should have kept wide

Yeah you're right seeing it back.

Yeah the finger has to be pointed at Gilroy for that try.

Barbarians trying to play the Baa-Baas style but the greasy ball isn't really working for them. Have to commend them for keeping at it though.

FWIW YC was the right call for me. Not a red and won't be cited.

Jennings and Smith possibly the best players on the field. Gopperth has gone well too. Very fluid in attack.

Heaslip and Toner have gone well for us. Madigan has been solid but will want to do something eye catching before being called ashore. Nobody in the back line particularly good. I've been pleased with COS but that's more relative to expectations than to what I'd want from an Irish test level performance.

Maybe, but Ireland are struggling to generate quick ball so it will be tough for either out half with ball in hand.

Good to see Chris Henry putting himself about; I'd love for him to kick on to a good World Cup.

I think Henry has been one of our standouts so far along with Heaslip.

He looks handy, Leinster should go after him.
