Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

Can anyone on Cairn hill check if MUX 1 (CH47) is coming in as strong as MUX 2 (CH44)

I'm in Glasson, just outside Athlone, and MUX 1 is very weak, while MUX 2 is 100%.

    Thanks,

    Shamrogue

There's no mention of any scheduled work on Cairn Hill.

More than likely you have poor reception on both muxes, with the error correction in the receiver working overtime to give you the 100% reading on mux 2, but being overwhelmed by a slightly worse mux 1 signal.

What kind of aerial setup do you have?

All is fine here well outside the service area south of Tuam in Galway. No issue receiving both muxes from CH. Check your aerial setup.

    Thanks Guys,

I had a look at all connections and they were fine. Tweeked the gain on the masthead amp and that improved it. still the very odd drop in signal quality to around 60%, but better than the persistant 6% earlier. 'tis but a small 8 element group B aerial that I have. In a bit of a hollow so might source a larger aerial.

    Thanks for the replies

Did you increase or decrease the gain? You had longterm trouble-free Saorview reception at this location up until now?

Saorview coverage checker actually recommends Maghera for a few spots near Glasson, could be worth a try if you think the terrain might be affecting Cairn Hill, the group B aerial will work alright for channel 48 at least.

    Increased.
It was always a foot or two high enough to get a reliable signal. I am in that area where Maghera is recommended. Thanks for the info.

I'll have a go at Maghera over the weekend.

    Regards
