Around the 5" mark with all the required bands for Ireland.

Have a look at the Redmi Series, as opposed to the Redmi Note range. They're usually around 4.6" to 5" screens.

GPS is no longer an issue with Mediathek devices, at least from what I have read. Seems to be long solved and just as good as SD

Also, the Android One rom from the A1 has been ported to the 4/4x (with some caveats currently) so anyone that is buying the A1 might want to hold off in case they already have a Redmi 4 series

Just received an Mi A1 today. Ordered from Honorbuy last Thursday. Shipped from Italy so no customs issues. Delivered by DHL this afternoon.

Any major advantages buying the A1 over note 4? Battery is bigger in 4 and camera is slightly better in A1, is that about it?

Think stock Android comes with A1 versus Mi version of Android in note 4 the other major difference. Had the note 4 a couple of weeks now and haven't noticed any issues so just left it as is but it can be changed to stock Android if needed I'm told. Very happy with it, Loving the battery life, no interest in camera so can't speak to that

Note 4 was realeased in January and they usually work the realeases yearly

Wouldn't be a fan of Gearbest, but the price on that is very good.

They usually ship from Hong Kong so not guaranteed to be customs free. Got stung buying a lens from them before for customs.

They seem to be good for cameras/lenses but some shipping issues lately for phones.

After much debate, I think I'm going to opt for the MI A1 for the pure stock android experience. I think I read in the last couple of weeks on here that the best value is with Hong Kong Goldway on Aliexpress using the DHL delivery to avoid customs. Is that correct?

Anyone that has one for a few days or weeks at this stage, how are you finding it?

Got my tracking numbers today, so hopefully have the phone towards the end of next week. Bought from HK Goldway, and they have said their is no customs using DHL. I got two tracking numbers - one for a shipment from HK to UK, and then another that will take it from UK to me.

Was a very tough decision for me choosing between the Redmi Note 4 and the Mi A1. The Note 4 has a larger community, a significantly bigger battery and some cool MIUI 8 features. Where as the Mi A1 has the better camera and OS support.

Decided to go with the Mi A1! Bought it through HonorBuy as many people here have already commented on their super fast shipping - and I need it before next Thursday. I'm looking forward to it, will keep ya guys updated as to how I get on.

Looking to buy a Chinese phone, probably go with Xiaomi, but rather than asking all of you "what phone suits my specific needs?":P I did a little digging and thought I'd share it here to help anyone else who was as confused by the different Xiaomi phones.
Ripped from an indian website killerfeatures .com so prices are converted using 1000 rupees ~= 13 euro.
Note: there's quite a few future releases there too, so the price in that case is the expected price.
