What is your budget? Do you still want a 5" Phone?

Put your required specs in here: - https://www.kimovil.com/en/

Have you looked at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5?

Never came across this kimovil site before - thanks pal, I'll take a look at that the Note 5.

Can you change that page to english?

You can read the English version of the listing here
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073S6P7ZZ

If you just want to purchase it (on Spanish site), just press the yellow button "Añadir a la cesta" and next, next (or click the shopping trolley "Cesta" at the top of the page), it should be pretty straight forward from there to checkout.

Thinking about changing my phone, currently have a Xiaomi Mi 5, and looking for some recommendations from the hive mind :)

My requirements would be, I hope, fairly simple.

    Must haves:
    • USB C
    • Fingerprint reader
    • 3.5 mm headphone jack
    • Decent Lineage OS support
    Nice to haves:
    • Bigish battery, 3500 mAh or higher

You can put the device requirements into Kimovil and then cross reference on LineageOS & XDA for unofficial support.

Phone prices increased? i bought a Zuk Z2 for under 150€ last May and was looking to buy another one for someone else and discover their over 200€ now.

Similar spec phone is way above it on Kimovil. Raging i didn't buy 2 of them back then as they're a brilliant phone for people who like to keep it small

It often happens for different reasons.
Lenovo finished the ZUK brand last year and stopped production, so my guess is that there is a very limited amount left, and that is the reason for the price hike.
https://zuk.hk/ was the official site (dead now)
It is $199 on Banggood (OOS)
    and
    $204 on Sunsky clearance

Are honorbuy safe to buy from? Any potential issues? Warrenty etc?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

Warranty and Chinese phones dont belong in the same sentence.

    It's the risk you take.

Yea that'll do the job. I'd look at a mi A1 though instead. Should be cheaper too.

Dont think you'll get the Mi A1 cheaper than that .. Its been north of €150 for quite some time.

    https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mia1
    Prices on the right.

Did anyone here get the Vernee Mix 2? I see the 4gb version can get for around €160

eGlobal have it for €155 if you don't mind Gold.

Edit: Sorry, the prices didn't load for me properly the first time so I see that €155 isn't anything special.

    Hi,

My redmi note 3 has begun to randomly shut off, sometimes just goes dead, sometimes blue screen then dead, and once the screen was a load of different coloured lines, it always comes back on if I hold the power button.

This morning it shut off, and when I turned it back on the time was 01:00 (actual time was 07:30) until it kicked back into network given time.

Does this mean the battery is disconnecting? Seems to happen a lot more when im moving, was cutting the grass last night and phone shut off four times, so thinking if it's getting bounced about it might be the battery,

It still charges and holds charge as normal

Replaced my battery at the end of February and is working well for me.

See this post for the battery I got,
it is easy enough to replace,
just be careful of fingerprint cable when opening the device.

Getting the glue strips out could be the difficult part, I had to pry my old battery out.

Hope it is just the battery giving you problems and not the charging port as well.

I have gotten 1 day 17 hours with 15% remaining in the past.

Usually get a days use out of the device with 40% to 50% remaining.

Edit: - Also hoping to buy RN5 [WHYRED][Global] this summer.

Already Purchased RN5 since the above post!

I was looking at the rn5 in case of the worst case scenario, are you happy with it? Did it get past customs ok?

I only got it last Friday, from honorbuy eu warehouse, so no vat problems. But HK Goldway on Aliexpress with VAT Free shipping is cheaper at the moment.

Oh yes I'm happy with it so far.

Imo the best deals currently available are

LeEco cool 1 dual / le 3 / le s3 , all around 100 euro or cheaper. Big discount since company went bankrupt, wont get ota updates though.

Meizu Pro 6 plus / Pro 6s / Pro 7 , if you want a Meizu phone these are much better than the budget series. Have Amoled screen and better build, cameras for only a tiny bit more, highly discounted from original prices. They all come in global versions and were recently updated to newest flyme os.

    Nubia m2, z17 mini

Not including the obvious xiaomi ones but rather these are deals which are really when they're gone, they're definitely gone!

I've been looking at the Nubia z17 mini. Looks very decent for around €140.
