Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dunphy is dead on, the panel often times were way more interesting than the actual game

Love Bill's mischievous grin in that clip

I really dislike football, but I always enjoyed watching that panel.

Whenever the panel went off on a mad one, Bill would always have that little smirk on his face. He was such a messer. :pac:

For all the bitching we (I) do about RTE, they do sport - especially big tournaments - extremely well.

    Dunphy talking sense there,

If I could have all the hours I spent watching Sport on TV back... I'd watch a lot more Sport on TV

    Yeah, second row seat.

Ironic how the worst presenter in RTE is hosting a tribute to the best.

Bill's Second Captains interview is well worth a listen.

He's most famous for getting the lads to talk, but he was a brilliantly articulate fella. Great talker.

We'll never get another Bill, but Darragh is not too bad. Can't see anyone else on RTE who'd do a better job.

I disagree, Darragh Maloney is a fine presenter. It is an intimidating role to go into and break up the "Old Boys club" but although he doesn't have that wit of Bill, he is a smart and well able to stir up analysis and conversation after the game.

Been involved in sports journalism since a very young age. Got into RTE at a young age too. Must have worked his way up.

Mick Dowling, now there's another absolute gent.

    Love RTE's Olympics coverage too.

Bill talking Sport for hours and hours. All day.

I hate these odd numbered years with no Olympics and no World Cup.
