I am almost two and a half years doing Bikram Yoga. for the first 8 months i just brought regular water into class, but as my practice deepened i sweated more and more and more and i was getting cramps in my feet ( not every day), but enough to be annoying. So i started to bring this drink into class -
    Its a bottle of water
With a slice of lemon sqeeezed
    a pinch of sea salt
    and a spoonful of honey

Best energy drink ever. Thought this might be useful information.

Best of luck thegrowreport. And follow the teachers advice, take it easy and do your best. Don't be put off by the flexible people in the front row. Some day, if you keep it up, you will match them. Believe it or not.
Plain water will probably do you tomorrow cause you are not going to set the world on fire on your first day.
Hope you enjoy it. I have 770 classes done in almost two and a half years. I love it. Nearly died on my first day though

Hi Conor, is there much emphasis on self practice in Bikram ?

I know some yogis that do the bikram themselves at home, sometimes.
You can even download the bikram class in the iTunes store. Bikram himself is talking you through the class.
But I reckon going to the class is the better option unless you have been doing it for years and years and you have a special room set up and you are strict enough with yourself to do it most days. The teacher watching is best I reckon

So I had my first class in Bikram Yoga D15 and it was fantastic!

I really enjoyed it and found the honey/salt/lemon drink to be delicious. I drank water on the way home but really found the 'energy drink' to be very nice during class. Thanks again!
