American Tourists

I was around town for a few hours today and I noticed a huge amount of American tourists, some of whom in groups of 4+. Just wondering if there is a particular event on or just the start of the summer holiday season for them?

Also the euro has dropped 30% in the past year, so it's effectively 30% cheaper for Americans to come this year vs. last year (all across Europe tourism is expected to be up because of this).
