    Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

My mom brought me when I was seven. I fell asleep. She loved it.

I have a memory of going to see The Man With The Golden Gun, but I just checked and it came out in 1974 (which would've made me four years old). I seem to remember that we went as a treat for my brother's 10th birthday, which would've made it 1977, so I've either got the movie wrong, or it was a re-run.

I also remember going to see Star Wars, which would've been 1977 too.

When they had Rocky 4 on in the capitol cinema in Cork the cinema employed somebody to begin the "Rocky, Rocky, Rocky" chant during the fight against Drago, atmosphere was like being at a Barry McGuigan fight around the same time.

Sounds awful - did you grow up in a religious family?

My first two were a Disney movei called The Rescuers and Watership Down, but I cant; remember in what order.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Went to a double feature in the late 70s with my mother and sister.
We saw Last Feelings and The Last Snows of Spring.

Then a gap of a few years until ET, we left halfway through as my brother was so scared he got sick!
Still haven't seen ET in its entirety.

I know it's probably not cool to have a go at other posters' spelling but that's very unfortunate. Or maybe you were an early developer?:)

My family, Irish emigrants to London, heard that Disney had brought out a great film about Irish people. So they took me and my cousin to see it. I was four, he was three. The film was Darby O'Gill and the Little People. For those who've never had the pleasure, YouTube the Banshee scene. Traumatised doesn't begin to describe the effect it had on us ...

High Spirits...it was no Lawrence Of Arabia...

I recently reviewed this for new book - Dead Or Alive - British Horror Films 1980-1989. I volunteered to watch it because it was an Irish co-production and then I realised why no one else had volunteered before me.
Its like an Oirish Rentaghost for the Ghostbusters era.
