    What's the score?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,049 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Thoroughly enjoyable first half. Better than most senior championship matches we've seen so far this year.

No negative tactics. The ball is going into the Clare full back line and its two on two.

    What's the score?

    Clare 0-12 Limerick 0-10

If anyone likes a gamble. Limerick are just short of 3/1. Huge odds for such a close game.

Shane O'Brien giving away loads of stupid fouls.

Anybody think the Limerick #10 Ronan Lynch looks a bit like TJ Reid?

Shane o Donnell is some man to throw himself on the ground while grabbing the backs hurl!

    Pour some water on it.

Good save from the Clare keeper but Lynch should probably have buried that.
Clare are not able to handle Lynch at the moment, he's causing huge problems.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 10,087 Mod ✭✭✭✭marco_polo

Great save could have been game over, 65 converted so 18 to 16 52 mins

Limerick have all the momentum now.

Running the ball out of defence is dangerous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

I hate when backs go on mad solo runs and end up losing the ball. Madness.

He got a fair whack on the knee there.

Cian Lynch has assisted in loads of Limerick's points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Why didn't he go for goal??

All over 0-22 - 0-19 congratulations Limerick no question the better team won.

Anyone else get Limerick at 3/1. Crazy price against a poor Clare side.

I wouldn't say clearly the better team. Clare made some shocking mistakes at the back. For times Clare completely outplayed them. Strange game really.

Clare never got O'Donnell on the ball enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Cian Lynch got on a lot of ball in the second half really came into it setting up scores,

Id say Ronan Lynch didn't miss any free,a free taking machine that lad is.

    Well done Limerick,great win.

For sure there was a purple patch where we outscored them 10-2 but either side of that Limerick were dominant IMO.

They are but they could have easily won the game tonight with a bit of decent team management.

Brilliant game. Hurling at its purest.

Freetaking from Lynch was unbelievable, and then Cian Lynch was a wizard around the middle. The short hurl passing was delightful.

Decent game. End-to-end. The more accurate team rather than the best won as both gave it hell for leather.

There was no plan for lynch. Short puck outs and simple mistakes cost them several points. I felt they overran the ball and often ran into trouble or congested the full forward line.

Them two games will stand to Limerick ahead of the unknown quantity Galway in the semi.Should be a belter of a game that.

Would rate Limerick ahead of Wexford at present, and of course we still have to get by Antrim, but still would predict a Limerick-Wexford final, which has the potential to be something awesome

HTF could they when the insisted on soloing out of defence. For a while I thought Davy was on the line. Crazy tactics by Clare, but well done to Limerick.

But I thought the manager was going to be one of the saviours of the Clare senior hurling team when(if?) Davy steps down?

In the semi final O Donnell didn't feature either.
In that game Care got a huge amount of scores from well taken, very accutate puck outs.
Tonight they were misplaced and poor decision making. Add in the aerial dominate of Limericks half back line and Clare struggled badly

I think we were just beaten by the better team to be honest. Limerick won the majority of the 50:50 balls and I don't think long balls in were the answer. Sloppy mistakes at the back and puckouts was the most disappointing part of the game for me.

Good game. Limerick were deserving winners on the evening. Plenty in that team to give them hope after a disappointing summer. Clare went down fighting like true champions. Must say I really like the midweek u21 games during the summer. During a disappointing hurling championship to date they have been a breath of fresh air, particularly the games in Munster. Fair play to TG4 for covering them. Crowd was fantastic for u21 game. The u21 football could probably do with an impetus like this as well.
