Want to create website for small jewellery shop. Have no experience in creating one, but tried few website builders (drag and drop). They look pretty simple. At the moment looking at this crowd <mod snip>.
Question: Has anyone used it and can you recommend any?

Mod edit: Please read the forum charter.

My fiancée has been required to use Weebly for a project. She seems to find it restrictive and pages are slow to load on it. Definitely a frustrating tool for someone who knows HTML/CSS, however it does allow someone who doesn't to make nicely-designed pages.

Unfortunately most people who don't know HTML/CSS also know nothing about the principles of web design, so it's commonly used to produce horrific Websites.

If you stick to a standard flat 5-7 page structure with a conservative generic colour scheme and layout (use a template) then you should be able to produce something okay. If you want to make something more individual or that would stand out, then either study the topic first or employ someone to do it for you.

Want to create a wedding ring. Have no experience in jewellery but I have a few diamonds and a big hammer.

    ;)

Seriously though if you want a professional looking site then hire a professional. If you go the DIY route it will probably look cheap and nasty which is as desirable in a website as it is in jewellery.

op: weebly can be ok but you are fairly restricted

Have a look at wordpress.com and play around with it you can set up a free blog there and if you feel it will work for you you can pay to get it to point to your own domain name (www.yourwebsite.com)

you need to educate yourself as to what can be done so sign up to weebly and wordpress and setup a mock websites in both to see how you get on.

will you be photographing your own stock? learn how to take a nice picture.

Welcome to the wonderful world of content creation!!!

there is one final problem, you are selling Jewellery a high end product, your advertising has to be equally high end in appearance.
