It's weird how these bizarre superstitions propagate throughout time and where they may or may not have come from, but I guess a land like ours with all it's seen and done and with it's deep and involved history with the supernatural :)

The old tales are funny. My mam goes absolutely ape about eating meat on good Friday and Ash Wednesday I think it is.
My brother always brings up ham or something it's hilarious.

Nope, been wanting to see it though.....

I'll let you know what I think of it. Superstitions are weird. Like the one where you can't put new shoes on a table.

Meat on any Friday was a Hell worthy sin up until very recently, my grandmother would never even dream of it and most people I knew just happened to not have meat on a Friday when growing up.

But Ash Wednesday or Good Friday - you'd be killed for it. Straight up murdered :p In my later years, I made a point of walking into the house eating a burger or something similar :D

I'm kinda feeling mad watching it. Some stuff they had to do seems pointless.

Seriously wonder how they started though. Some seem outlandish now.

I'll bet it's also a case of the traditions being misinterpreted and subsequently changed too over hundreds of years so the original meanings could have been lost. Suppression of knowledge and the will to acquire knowledge was a very powerful ruling tool, so there aren't as many records as we'd like I suppose.

Lith I highly recommend American Sniper. One of the best films I've seen in a long time.

    Nice one. :)

I've not got much planned today, apart from Zumba tonight.

Tomorrow I'm helping out for a couple of hours in the charity shop in the morning, then leaving for Croke Park at 2. After I rush home for some food.
