Well now I know why its hard to visit this thread these days. Too many misinformed experts. Please have a look to see who actually trains horses. Charlie Appleby trains Baccarat, he was in the hands of Richard Fahey before Godolphin.

    Edit
    Covered better ^^

He wasn't talking about who trains the horse.

I think he meant aidans thread in the horse racing forum; he put up baccarat as his pick...cool the jets ;)

Whitecliffsofdover is as near a certainty as I have seen in a long long time,i have backed it and will be shocked if it does not win, this is the proverbial "good thing" and 5/4 on is so generous I cant believe it.Runs in the 2 40 Naas and is my biggest bet this year.

It was brutal enough in fairness, though not an inspired ride from Ryan Moore.

Fantastic racing on sat even though the 2,000 guineas has a very disappointing entry.

I expect Churchill will win and if more than 8 took part I would have had a few quid ew on M Halfords Irishcorrespondent.

There are quite a few very good races at various venues and a few well handicapped horses can be backed.

I have already backed 5 in an ew lucky 31 and I will be backing some of the 5 in singles depending how the early ones go.

Chancery at 8/1 and Out Do at 11/2 both trained by OMeara have very good chances in the 3 15 and 3 50 at York.
Pettochside is a Goodwood specialist who won the 4 55 last year and is a real good bet to win it again at around 11/2.
Yorkidding 2 20 Haydock is in great form and just missed out in his last two runs and looks to have a great chance at 11/2 and Aiden OBrien's Washington Dc is in good form and can win the 4 05 also at Haydock to complete the lucky 15.Firmament in the 2 10 at York is worth backing at OMeara's local track and would have been in my ew multiples if there were 8 runners but I am backing it to win.

With that rain Maarek might be worth a small bet in the 2:25

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,704 ✭✭✭zimmermania

Two group 1s at the Curragh today and once again OBrien has an odds on chance in the 1,000 gns at 3 25.

Winter should be unbeaten this year but was given too much to do first time out and will take all the beating today.I may seem insane but I am having a small ew bet on ANEEN.I saw her beat 24 others last year by 4 1/2 lengths 230 days ago and marked her down as on to follow.

She may have had some problems and I am hoping she will be fit enough today after such a long layoff.I am sure Kevin Prendergast did not want to come here without a prep race but the fact that she takes her place suggests he believes she is forward enough.

The other Group 1 is the 2 20 and I am having a few quid ew on one that also has been difficult to train, only ran twice in the last 2 seasons and appears to be the outsider of OBriens 3 on jockey bookings.

Johannes Vermeer will like the ease in the ground and at around 7/1 will carry my small ew bet and would hardly be still in training if coonnections thought she could not be competitive again.

    Well done Toby.

I could not help back it to win in the end.
    It ticked a few boxes.

    Great racing again today.

It is hard to believe that Tartini last two runs were in Derby trials and that he was beaten 5 lengths by Cracksman two runs ago over cd and now runs in a handicap in the 2 oc at Epsom.

Might be a certainty but I am going to oppose him with HAJAH who only has 7-11 on his back and will improve for the step up in trip and is great value at 7 or 8/1 ew and just 8 runners.

CUSTOM CUT came back to form in Ireland last time and has a chance in the group 3 at 3 10 at around 7/1 ew.

WATCHABLE ran a blinder a week age when apprentice ridden and can win the hot handicap at 5 50 at around 12/1 with the in-form Danny Tudhope on board, extremely well handicapped and excels in big field contests he will be hard to beat.

CHANCERY was beaten a neck last week and would have won in a few more strides only up 2 lbs and still very well handicapped his chance is helped by the 7 lb claim of his very useful apprentice P Vaughan who is a really good rider and should guide home CHANCERY in the 4 15 at Doncaster at around 9/2.

The 4 horses are in good form and an ew lucky 15 will be my bet and a couple of single bets if need be.

Chancery let me down badly,i backed it ew in a single bet when first two were hockeyed,Hajaj may have been placed if not badly hampered and the only positive from the day was Watchable being placed and my bet at 12/1 ew reducing the losses.
