A great days racing to watch but aside from Theatre Guide in the 4 10 I have not had any other bet on turf.

Optimistically I invested €100 in an ew yankee at Wolverhampton.
    Picketline 3/1 6 20
    Robben 5/1 6 50
    Miracle Garden 13/2 7-20
    Moonday Sun 7/2 8 20

11 bets for the price of 10,better sp and 1/4 all races.

    ********

What a ride Paddy B gave him - Unfortunately came up a bit short. Kept gettin barged over final 3 fences puting him off his stride & lost a bit of momentum.

I put a few quid ew on Miracle Garden to defy the high draw 7s and drifting.

The listed race in Naas at 6 40 is interesting insofar as the 9 year old Maarek runs in this for the 4th or 5th time. The 9 year old gelding has been 2nd and 3rd the last 2 years and won it the previous 2 years.

He seems as good as ever this year and ran a good race 1st time out at Doncaster finishing 3rd,he probably ran a better race last time when 5th at Newmarket beaten just 1/2 a length and appeared a bit unlucky.

He can't keep going forever but tomorrow's race does not seem as tough as usual and he should be too good for what look like an ordinary enough bunch.
He is usually ridden by Jamie Spencer and I do not why he is not on board tomorrow (his new job with quatar racing might have something to do with it) but the horse is straightforward enough and Colm Keane should be ok in the saddle.
I have backed him ew already and took the 9/2 on offer with PP.

Nice Vintage 8/1 5.25 Ayr one to follow this summer over hurdles.Blue Bahia 100/30 got an easy ride from Smullen last time out.Arlecchinq's Leap 7.50 Wolves is a big player with Keniry sarcraficing mounts all over the country to ride this in particular at Wolves.

think fort del oro will be hard to beat in the 6.40 esp if the drop back in trip isnt a factor
regret not taking 11/4 last night now

Frangarry 5 50 Wol is one I backed a couple of times when he met trouble in running its a furlong longer today in a weak race so I backed it again.

    Great call on Nice Vintage.

Very impressed with Elusive Heights in the last at Naas there. Green as grass and still got up. Could be a good one.

Two backed today and the losing run continues but that's racing and the bad run is part of the game,Punchestown might bring some relief (I hope).

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,704 ✭✭✭zimmermania

Ballychorus runs in the Champion Novice chase at Punchestown at 6 40 tues and I am hoping for a clear round this time.
Twice this horse came down when my money was on and I am hoping he at least gets round with the pilot still on board.

16/1 was the price I got and I think Mags Mullins and those of us who saw him crash out at the last at Leopardstown when he had every chance are due a change of luck.

The only other bet I am having in Punchestown tue is Brelade in the 6 05 Goffs Land Rover bumper.N Henderson sends over Jenkins, who is a very short price 4/5 and while he may turn out to be very useful he should not be so short on what he has achieved.

I took 9/2 about Brelade ew as I believe if he improves on his only run behind an Aiden O Brien hotpot, Aspen Colorado he will take all the beating. His trainer Gorden Elliot has Hardline in the race also and if Brelade is the better of the two as I suspect he is a good bet and PP is giving money back (as a free )if 2nd to the fav up to €25,i think Ladbrokes are giving the same amount back if 2nd or 3rd to the fav.

The final race at Punchestown is a howler in terms of breeding and would shame Kilbeggan and that takes some doing.Mullins fav cost 6k and only trainers name beside it makes it fav.Pat Twomeys Blairs Cove 9/1 is about the best and by Presenting will love quick ground.Gods Own 10/1 has a mountain to climb on ratings but is a fast ground specialist and will run a big race.modem 14/1 is a big price for a course winner and stable flying.Backed Hardline at 8/1 but worrying Codd is on the other Elliott horse.Hardline was very impressive in his ptp here and the second has won in a canter afterwards. Ado McGuinness young lad has the mount claiming 7lb.Zabana was a major punt at Cheltenham but Russell failed to start but 4/1 is poor value with bookies ducking this one. Will finish saying Paddy Powers are the new Ladbrokes they are appalling. If Dravid 20/1 is ready first time out he will run a big big race Bath 2.45.

Maybe I am misinterpreting your post! But I Wouldn't say Runfordave is badly bred to be fair??could be a decent type. 6/1 is worth taking.

    Noble Endeavor for me here.

I really fancied him at Cheltenham and maybe that race was left behind as he was creeping into it but taking another chance here.

    As i thought.

Montana Belle looks worth a punt at 33s today, the name rang a bell so I have a good look at her.

Her history is odd, she is with her third yard and has only ran 6 times, De Bromhead being the best trainer so far and I feel will bring improvement. She ran in the super hot 2015 bumper and was 10L behind Moonracer, in front of Bellshill and O O Seven. She was also 3L behind Bitofapuzzle before that run.

The favourite isn't genuine and after the way yesterday went for the yard I think worth taking on.

Going with Moor Racer, Supasundae, Cue Card and Pairofbrowneyes also

4th beaten a head for 3rd in my ew bet and other bet a faller yesterday.

Backed 2 today,Mizzou trained by Luca Cumani won the 3 20 Ascot last year and should give it a good go again today at 7/2 and i backed Baden in the 4 20 Pun,the British raider apparently needs good ground.

William Biddick is by far the best jockey riding at Cheltenham and all his mounts should be supported in a roll on single bet.Almost guaranteed a winning return with his four rides.

If you google the name of the horse followed by horse it'll give you a link t the horse's page on Irish Racing, from there you can see the entries, either that or just enter the horses name into irishracing.com.

Personally I'm very thankful for all the tips/fancies given on here so I don't mind doing a bit of leg work

At last the bleeding has stopped and thanks to the little transfusion from Lads on Baden being placed,i got 10s and the €50 ew 7/2 on MIzzou PP I am feeling a bit chirpier.

Josies Orders is all the rage for the XCountry chase in Pun 4 50 today, however Bless the Wings has a chance of beating him on the better ground and with the 9lb turnaround in the weights since they last met.

Very game and better if anything this year Bless the WIngs has been beaten 3 times by Josies Orders at Cheltenham but has an excellent chance of beating his rival as I believe he is better suited to Punchestown than Cheltenham and I presume PP is giving money back if second to the jolly and that makes Bless the Wings an even better bet,ew at around 4s or 5s if possible would be worth taking.

I like the tip but if it does lose, you will make a loss even at 4 or 5-1.
IMO each ways at those prices just arent worth it, unless you are desperate or betting really big

I guess it's edging your bets, if you put a €10 on each way it'll cost you €20, assuming it comes second at 4/1 with a 1/5 for a place you will get €18 back, overall a loss of €2 BUT with the money back if you come second to the favourite you're really up €8.

Personally, I'll only do each way if the odds are over the place price (i.e. 5/1 for a quarter of the odds, 6/1 for a fifth of the odds) but I can see why you would do it on shorter odds as well, especially with money back offers if you come second.
