Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm far from a prude and have a punt on footie most weekends but the 'sponsored post' at the top of the page by Niamh leaves me a little uneasy.
Money/marketing etc is obvious but there's just something that makes me think it's out of place here(not just the fact that I already have 'at least one pp acc!).

I wouldn't be surprised if this was locked, but would be very disappointed considering there is no reply option on the post in question.

Was thinking the same. Another cash generating effort by Boards. A commission from PP for every new a/c.:(

Should Boards not generate cash? Good luck having a site to post on if you answer no to that.

let me guess, you both have ad blocker installed and this is the first ad you've seen on boards.ie in a while?

No problems at all with it. It's just another ad.

The massive banner ads are a different story!

And what? The sooner the better people accept the fact the boards have overheads that need to be paid. At the end of the day the only other option is to go to paid membership which would lose a lot of posters. You don't have to sign up to paddy powers, we are all adults and have a choice.

I see loads of ads, I can't ever recall an admin posting an advert promoting a gambling site on the soccer forum though.

Crikey, the pc brigade are still active around here:rolleyes:

    What's the issue?

There's ads for everything else, why not gambling? Nobody is making anyone click on the ad or use the product

Im more concerned that its only the new customers that get the great offers :( Only thing i ever get from paddy power is a bonus to use in the casino side games and never a free bet for football or horse racing which i do gamble on.

Someone with a cynical side might suggest they only want you to bet on games of luck and not areas where you can study form and have a chance.

Didn't even notice it until the OP mentioned it and even then had to search it out.

I'm still unclear what the objection is. A very vague post.

Boards doesn't owe you anything. You're not paying them anything. Why such a feeling of entitlement?

The Irony is it doesn't come up in the betting forum :pac:

Certain irony that there's a link to Paddy Power in the thread title.

How much you get for each hit, OP?

Am closing as its off topic for this forum.

That said, I would imagine this would be perfectly suited to the Feedback forum, as it should probably be aimed at the proper eyes, as opposed to a general discussion on the soccer forum. :)
