That’s good news. We probably won’t know till end of year so about class next year and if there is one the numbers. I thought maybe that might get a mention today as well
Next meeting is 11th October I'd say that's when we're going to find out

Here lads, including shift rate and the likes, how much would you be getting paid when you’re out of training? The booklet doesn’t give a definitive figure.

They mentioned in the meeting on Thursday there is 46 left on the panel?
Is the panel not up to 121?
    So should be 39 left?

Yeh I phoned up human resources about that yesterday and the girl said panel is at No.121

Yep 39 left. Expecting 30-35 still wanting and available to apply for one large class so it’s done with no extension. They also want immediate new panel formed. What DFB want and get unfortunately seem to be far apart

If anyone is interested DFB Twitter page is giving daily updates as to how the class at the moment is getting on and what they are up to. Good insight as to what lies ahead for the rest if us hopefully

Have to agree, they'd want to start getting a new panel together soon if they want the flow to continue next year. Hopefully there will be some movement in a few months, won't count on it with DCC though.

Seemingly want to form new panel end next year.

I know this has been asked, but I can’t find the answer in the thread, so sorry to ask again.

What is the pay during training, and how long will this last?
What is the pay including shift rate, when you are operational?

And can anyone give a sample shift pattern?

Just so I can prepare myself as I’ll be taking a bit of a cut.

Think around €840 into hand every 2 weeks training over the 6 months. Next class should be doing fire/med right through same as current

I just tweeted DFB about it being a dream job and how I'd love to join and they just replied to me "Wait till next week!"

As in the pictures they’ll be putting up of the recruit training next week is what they meant

Five units then reaching into a specialist unit.

What the hell is going on? Madness, surprised a few news outlets are not running with it. Imagine if that was the Garda, it be splashed everywhere, 5 regular units and ERU cancelled due to staff shortages.

I would say the more public pressure like that the better the chances are of a larger class next year to complete the panel.

If you happen to be talking to any TD or public servents like Brid, I'd recommend you ask them to highlight it.

Wonder what the odds would be for a January class just to complete the remainder of the panel then they would not need to extend it. ;-p

Hence why no word. They are not sure if need to extend. If so it will be. Class jan/feb on cards for sure.

Yeah I've heard jan/Feb but just brushed it off as a little rumour, it would be ideal if it was true though
