Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great result for UCD & the LOI. Impressive for a 1st division team to get into the 2nd round. Should make a decent bit of prizemoney too.

That is just bloody superb from UCD. Great stuff. Absolutely chuffed for them.

Absolutely delighted. Went to the first leg. The Bratislava game might be moved out of the Bowl. I expect the demand to be much higher!

Historic day for Irish soccer already.

Great result, fair play to them.

This will probably go over most Irish people's heads. Absolutely delighted for the UCD fanbase though, he'll be up all night I bet.

What an unreal punching above the weight performance. Apparently they dug in and scrapped and clawed for it in the second half.

What a fall for Dudelange. They beat Red Bull Salzburg in qualifying back in 12/13. Three years later they go out to college kids in the first round.

We'll probably hear from Hammer Archer in about three days time, enjoy.

Anyway, two of four teams through. Hope Pats and Cork can do the business also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Confident Pats will go through after seeing last weeks game. Don't think Cork will too defensive imo.

Pretty sure that Bjarni Gudjonsson chap is the same lad who was in charge of KR when they played Shels. Had a brief conversation with him in the Tolka bar, nice guy.

Is it just me or does it annoy the fcuking tits of other LOI fans when someone can make the away game in Europe but not the fcuking home one (they live here).

Always annoys me on away trips...."the fcuk are you" ....."oh i dont go to home games..." Can be spotted by the 90s O neils jersey they wearing.

    hate them fcukers.
That's what happens when you only have around 1.2 k every home game:pac:

Go on Cork. Pats out I guess, shame.

Is the UCD bowl up to UEFA standards? They tend to be very funny/strict about these things.

Depends on which round, the further you go the more is expected.

Never a red tho, terrible decision. O'Sullivan made the most of it. Good for Cork, so have to be happy in a way!

It was vintage O'Sullivan. I guarantee you he would have known the no.5 was on a yellow before dinking it over him and going down.

Rare enough that Irish teams get that luck in Europe so they will take it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

    Europe is overrated anyway! :(

Well ****. Deserved though. They've been doing most of the attacking this half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Cork have been terrible this 2nd half. That goal was coming. Seemed as if all 2nd half that KR had the extra man.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,752 ✭✭✭pablomakaveli

It's ridiculous. City just sat back while KR were knocking dangerous crosses into the box. It was inevitable one of them would eventually pay off.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Can see KR winning in the 90 here :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,948 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Cork look like they're the team with 10 men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,369 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Missed the sending off. Must have been looking at the PC.

Can't believe City have had a man advantage. Never would have guessed that.

Jaysis, is Kearney still playing football.

Away goals count in extra time in the Europa League right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,748 ✭✭✭✭Lovely Bloke

yeah, a goal will see Cork through you'd think

Cork are absolutely riding their luck here. 2nd KR shot off the crossbar.

Caulfield totally at fault for not killing it in the 2nd half. Woeful tactical approach, KR look like the team with the extra man.

    Awful stuff from Cork.

    That's absolutely brutal

Caulfield has to take 100% of the blame for this, so so negative it must really annoy the cork fans

Cork have been horrible the whole game, deserve nothing tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,369 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

KR deserve it. Been making up for an extra man for so long and they still have more energy than Cork.

City only stepping up a gear now when they should have been doing that after KRs first goal.
