Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    4-0!!

I wonder is the massive shadow caused by the roof structure playing havoc with the Japanese?

The ball falling from shade-light & vise versa can be hard to judge?

The Americans seem ok with it :)

Realy, that's a poor excuse they are being totally outplayed.

    Poor defending all round.

It's very impressive ( if a bit depressing ) that the women don't do half as much play acting and diving as the men. A lot of male superstars should be embarrassed with themselves watching this tournament. Fair play

Goals have dried up, boring now :P

Safe to say that no player man or woman has scored from the halfway line
in a world cup final until today.

Super game so far, can see more goals for both sides yet.

She should use the time to brush up on her photography skills.:)

I watched many of Japan's matches throughout the tournament. They were outplayed for large portions of those matches but their opponents failed to capitalize on the opportunities.

Love how they never ever tackle .

They do tackle a lot less already than men but this tournament is played on plastic. Even less inviting to go and make some sliding tackles.

If this tournament has proven 1 thing.... Never ever should a world cup be played again on artificial grass.
Ban it completely from football would be my preferred option but in certain climates i can understand they use it.

Artificial grass made field hockey much better but for football it is just not right.

Meh, I've played Rugby on one of these new pitches. Theyre great.

If you're playing in a WC and the pitch is stopping you making tackles, you're better off asking to be taken off. Let someone that will tackle play.

Rugby tackles are a lot different though.

Next time you're on such a pitch, try a sliding tackle.

I slid on it plenty. I've played football on older astro pitches (11 a side ones) plenty too.

I play all the time on Astroturf. Its the only pitch allowed in the league I play in. Sliding tackles sting more than hurt. But again if you wont make a tackle in a world cup you really shouldn't be playing.

Have you played on the astro in the heat? It's awful!

    Astro = goalkeepers nightmare.

Some of the pics i have of my knees, elbows, shins, hips, etc would get me banned from here.
