    Hey Guys

Currently living in Naas and I am looking to move out of where I am based. Living with 2 guys and to say they are slightly strange is an under statement. I am a female 25 and am due to start a new job which will have me based between Naas and Maynooth.

Of course I am looking on Daft every day but its either the same rooms up (which has to be for a reason) or they are single room or looking like the house is from the 60's. Really looking for somehwere that I can call home but live with nice genuine people who may or may nor share similar interests.

I said I would put it out there because at this stage either all my mates have kids or are settled :O

Any ideas or any one in the same boat I would like to know! Or even if you know of someone with a room. Dont mind sharing with guys or gals...very easy going

    Hi!

I'm sorry I don't know of anyone rooms for you but I would warn against getting your hopes up for Maynooth. It is a university town with a chronic housing shortage. If you look at the maynooth university forum or the maynooth accommodation forum you will see how difficult it is to find somewhere.

Landlords have started charging extortionate rents and I've seen people looking for 90 Euro per week for one single bed in a twin room in estates ages away from college. That's 180 per week for one room in a scrappy enough estate! :O

I would focus your attention on other towns around Naas and Maynooth, as personally although it is a nice town unless you absolutely HAVE to live in Maynooth and are lucky enough to find somewhere, you will be paying very high rent.

    Good luck OP!

at this time of year half the population of maynooth disappears and a lot of landlords are desperate to fill rooms. If you went to a landlord and said "ill be here for a whole year guaranteed' they'd rather that than somebody there for 9 months. now the only issue comes in august / sept when the students come back as its a bit of pot luck as to who you'll end up with. But find a nicely kept house and chances its only available to post grad or mature students and you'll be fine.

What's the max rent you can afford? You may be able to get a place not near the college, where there is less demand from students. Do you drive, or depend on local transport?

Somewhere between the 2 would be ideal, not sure if you know the towns well you mentioned but have to be careful renting in Maynooth as there is a good chance you will end up living beside students who socialise midweek, not all mind you, but some of them do and can be quite loud. But as a 25 year old you probably know this, but if in full time work it can be annoying. Look at Kilcock, Sallins, Clane, Straffan also. If you want access to Dublin easier look at Celbridge, Leixlip or Lucan which while not between Maynooth and Naas should still be accessible to your work in Kildare. All decent towns. I do sympathise with you living with people you don't like and find strange, must be tough but there should be somewhere for you in the areas mentioned.

If you drive, it might be worthwhile considering Kill or Johnstown. A friend of mine rented a room in a townhouse near Kill Equestrian Centre a few years ago that was pretty nice, while a few of my friends live in Johnstown and find it great. I've not lived in the area, so can't give you any feedback on the area.

Best of luck in your search.
